Loving Life: I Lost 108 pounds in 5 months!

Finally got weighed today!!  Naturally, I have my "Aunt Flow" visiting to help tip the scales in the wrong direction! But I'm NOT griping, as I am...

...FIVE months out from my DS (www.duodenalswitch.com) and I have lost 108 pounds!!!!!  That's right, I have lost 57.1% of my excess weight. I have 81 pounds to go, but I'm not scared any more. I honestly believe I'll make it this time.

So, if you're a pre-op lurking, do yourself a favor and find yourself a qualified WLS surgeon. Ask about ALL of your WLS options, not just the ones he does, and ask the tough questions!!!  Beg, borrow or steal (yeah, I said "steal!") the money for the surgery and get busy living! (Naturally, I highly recommend Dr. John Rabkin in San Francisco!! )

Thank you all of my OH friends who have helped me on this journey with your friendship and guidance. It has made a real difference in my journey!  I wish you all well on your journey.

The physical differences in these "before" and "after" pictures are obvious, but they alone do not tell the tale--my life has improved in EVERY way possible because my health is so much better since the DS. In celebration of each lost pound, I wrote a "wow" and posted it to my profile: 108 Reasons to Be Thankful! L-O-N-G!

WOW!  That is awesome in such a short time!  I can'i immagine how it feels to go from how you were in this first pic to the second pic.  It must feel like nothing else you can describe!  Keep up the great work, I can only hope to do half as well as you.

It's very sobering to look at the "before" picture and remember that I actually felt "good" when that was being taken.

I have a long way to go, and I don't want to forget where I've been, that's for sure. You will do great, just hang in there, follow your doctor's guidelines and your own instincts. AND of course, turn to the folks on OH who have been there, experienced that. Just remember to take plenty of photos as you go along, even when you don't feel like it!

I'm going to answer your PM tomorow morning after I check into what I have left, okay?

Your date is just around the corner! Good luck!

Thanks! You're going to rock your DS! I can't wait to see YOUR transformation.

Just remember that I had a single gal on the line for you BEFORE your DS turned you into Brad Pitt on the outside! So no taking up with scrawny supemodels or actresses afterwards, okay?

Thanks Nicolle but I don't think Brad Pitt has anything to worry about

I'm really looking forward to it and the folks at Paclap have been great!

Oh, Nicolle, I am so happy for you!!!  I can't believe how quickly you are sliding down the scale!

Isn't it weird?  I still think my body is going to stop losing at every pound.  Then the next day I wake up and another pound is gone.  I just can't believe something finally works and I haven't broken my DS!!!  SOMETHING FINALLY WORKS!!!!  Waa hoo!!

You look great and you will be at goal in no time.  Keep it up girl!!
