I'm still around

life has just thrown me another curve ball is all and I have been down.  Shane, one of our White Shepherds, who is MY baby and shadow was just diagnosed with bone cancer and probably has less than 3 months left.  For those of you who don't remember or know, just a mere 1 3/4 years ago we lost a puppy (11 1/2 mnths old) to cancer as well.  Shane just turned 6 so he's not old at all either. 

I am spending all the quality time with him I can and trying to keep him comfy and with no pain until I have to let him go.  I am doing great healthwise at least and have had no problems from that point, thank goodness.  Though most days I have no appetite.

Just wanted to let you guys know why I haven't been around much. Just down and depressed.

I was just getting ready to email you and see how the tests turned out.

I am very sorry to hear that it is not good news.

Thank you Dawn.  They didn't even have to do a biopsy on Friday because it was very apparent on the xrays.

I am so sorry to hear about Shane. My prayers are with you. As you remember I lost a 10 yr old Lab to Cancer last Augest. Carla

Thank you Paulette.  Yes animals have a way of worming into our hearts and Shane was from day one MY dog. He's my shadow so this is going to be hard. 

Oh Monica I am so sorry to hear about your baby Shane! I am a huge dog lover and my parents lost 2 dogs pretty close too. I know what you are going through and how you must be feeling. I wish there was soemtihng that I could say to make everything better, but just know that I am here for you! I am so sorry Monica. Stay strong and I will be thinking of you and your family during this time and I will send my good thoughts and prayers your way for Shane! Take care of yourself and if you need to talk about Shane or just your emotional well being please contact me anytime!

I'm sorry to hear about Shadow.
It is terrible to know your going to loose the pet you love. My dog was diagnosed with lymphoma. I had to put my little Libby to sleep. It was the hardest thing for me to do.
6 months later my daughters dog died. That was a trying time for all of us. Neither dog was very old. Mine was 5 years and hers was 6 years old.

Lymphoma is what our first one died from just about 2 years ago, he was only 11 1/2 months old.  Shane just turned 6 and it just doesn't seem fair.  Thank you for your kind words
