Hi everyone!

Here I am again checking in at the end of the day.

Wendi,
I cant believe you have to go to work tomorrow.  I could never have gone to work after one day home from my surgery.  You are a tough woman, please don't overdue it.  What do you do for a living?  Can you sit and rest at times?  I had the same chest pain and ended up with tons of tests, becasue the chest pain was causing shortness of breath, got readmitted for one night and put on increased pain meds, an abdominal binder, and a lidoderm pain patch.  I finally feel human again.  Please be careful at work, and take it easy!

I hope everyone's weekend went well.  We went to my dad's block party yesterday and had a good time.  Especially my 23 month old daughter, she was so happy to be able to be free and play in the street and run all over the place with no one telling her no.  She had a blast!   My dad got sick in Feb and spent 30 days in the hosp. and found out he probably has pancreatic cancer.  He went home and consulted a surgeon and was scheduled for a Whipple procedure to remove the mass and do a bypass of sorts.  During the testing phase of the first hospitilization, he contracted pancreatitis, very severely.  Becasue of this, the surgeon could only do part of the surgery, and could not touch his pancres to get the mass out.  So now he is trying to regain his strength so he can have the rest of the surgery in November.   My mom died last yr from emphysema ( she smoked all her life) so my dad is on his own.  So the reason for all this story is to say it was very important to be able to spend this time with my dad.  i think he had a ball, they had a DJ playing oldies and my daughter even danced with her grandpa, which made him soo happy.  I took lots of pics so I will download them and post some on my homepage hopefully tomorrow.

Today was a day of rest for everyone, and tomorrow I see Dr. Wallace for my surgery date!!!!!!  I hope he says sooner than later.  I will let you all know when I get home.

I have to say that having this board to read, and talk to people who have been there, done that is so comforting.  It has taken alot of stress off of me.

I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR WARM WELCOME!

Til tomorrow..............

Eileen
