Any experiances with Silver Cross Hospital Bariatric Center

With my insurance I have to go to the Silver Cross Bariatric Center in Joliet, IL for my Lap Band surgery.  The surgeons are Dr Joyce and Dr Lohmann.  Does any onehave any experiances, opinions or tips???   Let me know if anything good or bad.  Thanks for all your help guys.

I had my rny surgery done by Dr. Joyce at Silver Cross. I can't say enough great stuff about him and his staff. Silver Cross is the hospital I have had all 4 kids at and countless trips to the ER. I have never had a bad experience there. As for the recovery time in the hospital everyone was helpful and nice and made it as pleasant as possible. Good luck to you

I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and I have to say I LOVE DR. JOYCE!!!!  He is  wonderful and his office is extremely helpful.  Anytime I have had questions or concerns they have always been there to help.

 I do have to say, I had a bad experiece with the nursing staff  at Silver Cross Hospital though.  I did complain to the hospital and to Dr. Joyce about it.  Their response time was horrible to emergencies.  I was told it was no excuse, but there is such a shortage on nurses that this is pretty common, but my husband sat outside my room watching the nurses station (where there was a nurse sitting doing paperwork) and I had pressed the call button because I was throwing up blood....it took them 15 minutes to respond.    I was not the only patient that complained.  There was another woman who had lap-band the day after my surgery and she had  horrible nurses too.  I hope they can clean up their act.

I have heard nothing but good things about Dr Joyce.  I hate to hear about the nursing staff but I care more about the doctor's reputation (its my life I'm putting in his hands).  I'm sorry to hear about your complication.  I hope everything is alright now, throwing up blood that souds serious.

I have not had any problems with him or his staff.
I would go back to Silver Cross Hospital again...no problems for me there. I felt I was in good hands. Good luck with your journey.

I did not have my surgery at Silver Cross but I did have a surgery there and let me tell you, I LOVED it there.  I was so leary about going there as I had heard nothing but horror stories about the place.  I now love that hospital.  My son ended up in the emergecy room there a month ago and again, loved it there.

I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Joyce, I am sure you will love him too!

Dr Lahmann did my RNY in Dec there.  I absolutely wouldn't go anywhere else.  I like the office. I like the support. Dr. Lahmann is cute! Which is  plus and the office staff and Bariatric Coord are always around.  Also each surgery patient has their own private room which is awesome.  Dr Lahmann really cares about his patients.  I had to stay 2 extra days because the hole leading from my pouch to my intestine was swollen shut.  He wanted me to be comfortable in the hospital rather than going home and coming back with dehydration.  Always enough of my opinions. As always OH is a great resource.  I wasn't sure about the doctors or the hospital.  But I have heard nothing but great things about both.  This makes me feel very secure in my decsion.  Thanks for your in put.  Hopefully, within 6 months I will be getting my surgery, I can't wait.
