FRIDAY ROLL CALL ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

HI EVERYONE GOOD MORNING TO ALL OF ILLINOIS.     I HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING BECAUSE I AM GOING THROUGH A BAD TIME WITH MY DEPRESSION AGAIN.  TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY I AM 58 YEARS YOUNG.  I AM SPENDING IT WITH 2 DOCTOR VISITS THEY ARE GOING TO DO AN EVALUATION ON ME AND CHANGE MY MEDS. THEN HOME WITH MY DARLING HUSBAND. I JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT TAKING ME SO LONG TO FIGHT THIS. I FEEL LIKE IT HAS PARALYZED ME. I CAN'T GO ANYWHERE BUT TO MY DOCTORS VISITS. I FEEL BAD POSTING MY PROBLEMS BUT HEAR I AM THIS MORNING OPENING MY HEART TO ALL OF YOU. PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS. PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH ME, I AM TRYING SO HARD. BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU. MARILYN

  happy birthday to you!!!!  i'm sorry that your having such a difficult time!  i really hope that your doctors can fix you up with your med change.  i'm sorry that i don't have more for you as i really don't have expirenece with depression but you'll be in my thoughts!!!   and post away about the difficulties!!  everyone here is here for support and yes we love supporting you during good times, but we're here for the bad times too!!!  no one here is going to abandon you because your going thru a rough spot!  so, post away!! i really hope you have a wonderful birthday and a great weekend!!!!

Happy Birthday, Marilyn! I hope you can do something fun today in addition to  your doctor visits--maybe even stop for a latte or something!

I have dealt with depression, both as an individual and as a counselor. It is a difficult disease  and a hard walk. I've done well on some of the medications and I'm sure the doc will find one that works for you. I hope someone has also taught you about self-talk. It seems impossible, but it works! If not, PM me and I'll give you some examples.

Good morning Illinoisans! I'm getting a haircut today and plan to do some knitting. I finished my sweater yesterday and already have a new pattern for the next. I sit with a group of women who also knit and we chat, but there certainly isn't the same bond I feel for you guys. Dealing with our obesity issues certainly creates a different level of empathy. I appreciate you all so much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILYN!!!   Good Morning Illinois. Marilyn, you will pull through this. Look at what you have to look forward to. Your kids and grandkids need you to be your perky self. You know, we are here for you and want you better. BIG HUGS are going out to you. I hope everyone made it through the storms last night. We lost a couple of small tree limbs, and the pool is a mess, but, thats ok. I think DH said we only got about 1/2  inch of rain. We are waiting for the carpet cleaning people to come. Then out to the home improvement store to order siding for a rental home. Will probably stop at Krogers and a few other places today too.  Tomorrow I can stay home and veg, maybe. For those leaving on vacations, stay safe and enjoy yourselves, For those staying home this  weekend, take some time to smell the roses. Hugs to all

Good morning everyone!  Happy Birthday Marilyn!  I hope things get easier for you.  I have been there also.  I hope you can enjoy your birthday weekend.   Not much planned for today, other than cleaning.  I am also going to paint my livingroom.  Not very exciting, but needs to get done.  For some goofy reason a few years back I thought yellow would be a good color for the livingroom.  I must have been drinking!  I can't stand it anymore lol.   Have a great day! Good Morning Marilyn and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Connie is right!  Take a little time to do something nice for yourself in addition to the doctor appointments.  I have heard that sometimes it is a bit "hit and miss" to get the medication correct when dealing with depression, don't give up, they are there to help you.  I am thinking of you. We had the STRANGEST storms last night.  At one point, there was sunshine to the north, rainbows to the south and lightning, thunder and drizzle overhead.  I've never seen anything quite like it! Lightning DID strike the church where Liv attends youth group and "scortched" the roof and eaves.  The damage would of/could of been much worse, but luckily, the church is 2 blocks from the fire station.  Not only that, but at least 4 fire stations responded.  There were no injuries and the damage was minimized.  Then, as soon as the fire was out, a rainbow appeared over the church!  It was a truly inspiring sight. The ignitor went out on our dryer and Todd was having a FIT.  Our neighbor came over and helped him find the problem and we are going to get a new part today (cross your fingers.......).  We have perpetual laundry at our house, so we really can't be without the dryer for very long (no clothes lines available.....) Todd has a softball game tonight, we need to walk flyers for "A Day in Rock City" around to all the residents, then Liv leaves for Girl Scout camp on Sunday.  She will return on Friday, the festival is Saturday, then Todd and David leave for Boy Scout camp next Sunday.  Oh.....the joys of summer! That's what is happening around here, everyone have a lovely day, try to stay cool and be good to yourselves!

Good Morning Marilyn..  Happy Birthday   I'm sorry you're struggling with getting your depression under control.  It's a long hard battle but it can be controlled once they get you on the right meds and perhaps some therapy will help too.  I'm on Wellbutrin and it really helps me stay level. Hang in there. Dawn - Thank goodness the Church just had min damage.  I hope you get your dryer fixed today.  It's no fun being w/out a washer or dryer. Connie -  I would love to see a picture of your sweater.  It sounds so theraputic to be able to do such a rewarding hobby. Hope everyone has a great day.  I'm hoping to push this day forward to about 4 o'clock.  LOL Christina

Good morning Marilyn and Illinois,   HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARILYN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with the others, do something sprecial for yourself today, even if it is something small.  I will keep you in my prayers as far as the depression,   Connie I want to learn to knit!  Everyone has told me that since I learned to crochet first I'll never be able to knit.  I have tried with a cousin and a friend who said I don't have the knack for it.....really ticked me off, so I just bought a kids beginning knitting book and I will learn to do this!!!  We had some terrifc wind and rain here last night too, haven't been outside yet this am but Earl said everything is ok outside. today I have the grands so we are taking them bowling, they have been begging to go for the last week.  They have their own bowwling balls and are so cute! Cheyanne does really well and Samantha.........well she likes papa to help her! LOL!! While we are out we'll pick up a few groceries for the weekend.............I wish I had planted lettuce in my garden......can't wait for the tomatoes and peppers to be ready........looks like we will have a bumper crop of tomatoes. I'll have to make some sauce and freeze for later.  Have a great day! Paulette

If you lived closer I would teach you how to knit. It really is simple and there are lots of places on the internet to see very detailed pictures of instructions. There is a big knitting fest coming up called Stitches. It is near Hoffman Estates. Gp to www.knittinguniverse.com and look for the Midwest conference. I will be there Thursay and Friday, staying at the Hampton Inn. (couldn't get in the conference hotel). There will be beginners mini classes in the shopping area each day. If you are interested in going PM me and we can plan to meet.
