Thursday Roll Call

Hi everybody!  I'm jealous of all who have today as their last work day!  I have to work tomorrow and I'm dreading it.  My boss has been a bit of a bear this week and I'm suffering for it.  On top of that, my lead tech is on vacation and I depend on him quite a bit.  But I have one more week and then I will take the family up to Michigan for rest and relaxation!  No computer!!!  As an IT Manager, that is like a gift from the heavens (of course I will miss my daily chat with all of you).  Last night I cut the lawn which is a major work out.  It felt good!  My 7 year old has started to do a small section (I'm really proud of him!).  His 10 year old friend from across the street asked if she could do a little and said her dad lets her.  I felt bad, so I let her do some while I watched.  Wouldn't you know it, as she was cutting her little section, her dad drove up and asked what she was doing.  When I told him, he said that he didn't want her doing that.  I immediately stopped her, but now I fear I'm in the doghouse with my neighbor.  He's a great guy, and he may not be upset, but I feel foolish.  I would never put any child in danger, but I just made a poor judgement call.  Oh well, everybody will survive.  I hope everybody has a great day!  For those who get to start early, have a great weekend!  Paul

Hey Paul. I have a funny kid/lawn mower story. My 11 year old wants to mow now, so I supervised him one afternoon. He did well, but I had to mow the "Mowhawks" out of the yard when he was done. The next week the 14 year old wanted to mow.... Lets just say he decided to fill the gas tank up on his own,... in the place where the oil goes. Thankfully, it only cost me $65 to have it fixed. Now neither one wants to mow and it's my job again! Just wanted to make you laugh! Theresa, Rockford

Yay for it being Friday for you Michelle.  what do you do that you only work 4 days a week?

It's just the same old stuff around here today, taking Tyler to football here in a few and then coming home to do some cleaning before going to pick him up.  I need to find a Walgreens clinic between here and there to see if they will give him his tetnus shot that he needs for school.  Not sure how that works, but his Dr doesn't give shots in the office...kinda odd I thought, but whatever.

Tyler's team won the first round of Playoffs last night it was 11 to 1 so they called the game after the 5th inning.  Next game bright and early on Saturday morning.  8am in Elburn!  at least it won't be too hot!

Good morning everyone!!! I just picked my daughter up from band practice and then took her to camp. Today, my 2 year old and I are heading to the pool!!! we love the pool! Today we are grilling out for dinner and thats about it! I cant believe its already Thursday!!! Where has the week gone?? We had such a busy week last week that it has poured into this week, so its nice to just head to the pool today and thats it! I am going to skip out on doing laundry today too!!! Yeah for me!!! Good morning Michelle and illinois,  Not too much going on here today, heading to my daughters soon with sewing machine, iron and ironing board to shorten the new shears and help put up the new shears and drapes.( My daughter didn't inherit that part of the domestic (sewing, ironing) gene from me i guess, she got the part about using hammers and nails and tools from her dad instead, although she went to college for design, go figure)  Anyway, I love to sew so I am off to do my part. have a great day! Good morning Michelle and the rest of Illinois! I am working hard today, and tomorrow too, for that matter.  Since I only have the 3 days this week, I can't complain.  Next week will be tough if I have to work ALL week!!!  lol!! I took the kids swimming in Lena last night and they had fun.  I swam a bit, but my book was calling me more forcefully than the pool.  We had the last "A Day in Rock City" meeting last night, so hopefully, we are ready.  Now, we just have to pray for good weather. Liv has a game tonight and I need to total some receipts for the band boosters. Not too much else going on in this little corner........ I wish everyone a tremendous day!
