OT, ? about American's best

Has any one used American's Best for eye glasses and eye exam's I need to get new glasses and I don't have eye Ins. so I am looking for the best place to get them, Thanks in advance,

I haven't used them but I do go to Northern Illinois Optical on Madison St. They seem to do fine for me....but before I had insurance I went to Walmart in the park and I was very satisfied with the cost as well as the service. Pam

Thank you Pam, I went to Walmart in Beloit in the past but this last time when they made my last glasses the were wrong and could not see right out of them they tried to remake them and still not right so I ended up getting my monies back and never got new glasses, Maybe I will try a differant walmart.

Although I have never been there myself, my Aunt and Uncle used America's Best (actually, the day before he died, and they were awesome about not charging them for the two pairs of glasses that he ordered....) and she seems to be happy with her glasses. I know that it was going to take 2-3 days for their glasses to be done. I take the kids and Todd to Dr. Barnes' Eyewear Express in the Cherry Vale Mall. They always have the "2 pairs for $98.xx" deals, and with kids who need new glasses every year, it is the best way for us to go. They have a TON of frames to choose from and your glasses are usually ready in an hour. I usually find the staff friendly and helpful. They have a 1 year warranty on breakage, which also has come in handy with my kids. They have other deals that can cost more, but they are WAY cheaper than other places I've checked out. I love Northern Illinois Optical too. They have always been incredibly great and reasonably priced. Dr. Minarik is a great guy too.
