Surgery Completed

Hello Illinois Forum! This is my first time posting a message. I just had lap band surgery completed on Monday. I arrived at the hospital at noon time and was home in my bed by 8 p.m. So far, I have miminal main at the incision sites which I am handling with the aid of chewable tylenol tabs. Yesterday, I had no appetite and forced liquids down. Today, it is better but I am still not taking in what  I should for protein, liquid etc. Surgery was performed at Central DuPage in Winfield by Dr. David Klem. The staff was great. Dr. Klem was great but I must say I was disappointed that I did not see him once the surgery was completed. I do know the schedule was running behind...not sure if this is why.

I didn't see my surgeon after my surgery either, or if I did, I don't remember it..LOL   I know that he talked with my hubby but I was pretty out of it.  I'm sure he checked on you!

Thanks so much. Today I am feeling even better and actually taking in more liquids. Maybe I don't remember the Dr. Klem after the surgery. But as you stated  I am sure he did. Thanks again and we will keep talking along this journey.

Welcome home from your surgery... I am glad things went well... I hope you are able to get some rest in between the walk, walk,walk, and the sip, sip, sip... You made it the Loser's Bench! Congratulations! Take things one day at a time, it takes a little while to get in all the protein it'll come... Blessings Jenn

Thanks Jenn. Yes, remembering to sip, sip and walk, walk is truly a challenge. Today I started off with a nice protein shake. So, one day at a time.
