So I had my lap RNY last Tuesday. So I am about 11 days out. I feel good. I have my good days and I have my bad  days. Here is what I am confused about. I know he did the surgery, yet, I can eat and drink with no problems. I mean, sometimes I catch myself gulping my liquids fast, and eating too fast, yet it dont bother me. Shouldnt i feel full, or sick that my tummy is getting this stuff to fast?I only eat what I am told, and always measure it out. Im not hungry at all, sometimes I have to make myself eat and drink. But what is the deal with not feeling my pouch right now? I havent thrown up or anything, am I just blessed or am I dreaming that I went through this surgery????

My situation was a little bit different, because I was on a liquid diet for 10 days after I was released from the hospital.  I did eat a little bit fast at first too, and sometimes still do.  I did have problems at first if I drank too fast, but that has passed now too.  I don't think it is a problem if you are eating the amounts you are supposed to, and if you are chewing very well too.

I was the same as you, I could drink and had no problem at all....don't worry, Your surgery was done and you came out great from the sounds of it......Count it a real blessing that you are doing so well!   I did the gulp thing too, forgetting about my new pouch and it would scare me at times but no problems with that either! Glad you're back!!! Yes, I did the same thing, eat/drink too fast.... it just takes a lot of time to get used to it all... I still catch myself drinking to fast... and the only effect I have is the feeling that I have to burp but can't...

Thanks Anna, Yes, the burping......still can't burp very well, guess there's no room for that!  Sometimes I feel like an infant....need to be burped! Pam

Thanks Guys. I just feel like I should be throwing up, or burping too much, or something. I feel like it shouldnt be this easy on the easy days. Dont get me wrong, I have some bad days where everything I eat or drink I cramp, but other than that, Im good.

I am right there with you.  My first two weeks I questioned if I had really had the surgery or if they had just made it look that way.  I'm three weeks out and still don't feel full really at all.  I have never thrown up or gotten sick at all.  Crazy but I'm keeping on sticking to it.  Hope it works.
