Good Morning Illinois.
I am going to my daughters for a hot dog and hamberger cook out. I can not eat either one so I will take a can of soup. I have not been able to eat these fine foods since surgery. I might take a small chicken breast with me to through on the grill, really its not about the food its about enjoying your family and remembering you're loved ones who are gone.
We have two days of school left then my summer begins. I bought a new wood swing set for the grandkids, just need to get the slide on it before Thursday. This thing is so cute, there is a real little house on the top. I built my first house! There is a lot of extra holes the directions weren't the best. The kids will never notice they just think grandma is the greatest!
Enjoy the official start of Summer and try to stay dry and safe!
Good Morning Lisa and my IL family.
Today it's VERY windy outside but the sun is shining and will hopefully stay that way despite the weatherman!!
I am just about to go and start getting ready to head out to my sister, Barb's house for a BBQ. My other sister, Lisa, and my neice are riding with us. It's only Me, Tyler and Jacob going. Mike and Austyn are staying home because I want to enjoy my day today. It's the first time since surgery that I will see all of my family together, minus my brother and his family, but they are a whole different story all together.
A lot of people don't understand why I asked Mike to stay home with Austyn, but the way things are going around here, I just needed some time alone with my boys and my family. He's okay with it and understands.
This will be a full day for me as Barb lives in Rockford and it will a lot of driving. Tomorrow, no plans at all, just resting.
Have a happy, safe, wonderful and dry day all!

Good morning all, I really do not have any plans for today. I just want to be outside with the kids as much as possible and it seems that today is the day to do that. We are going to be getting the yard and garage ready for next weekend because my oldest is turning 6 and we are having his bday party. He is inviting 6 of his classmates, so that brings the total of kids to 18 all under the age of six. Im going to need a nap after that. He wants to have a baseball theme party, so we are going to be having stuff like hot dogs and chips, baked beans, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good little games for kids to do at that age? Any suggestion would be great. Take care and I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day.

Hi, my granddaughter turned 6 in Feb. we did musical chairs, (you could do to tune of take me out to the ballgame). Also bean bag toss was lots of fun, maybe set up so they have to toss to 1st, 2nd and 3rd base outdoors. We also always change pin-the-tail on the donkey to the theme(hannah montana& microphones, , pricesses & tiaras) and use tape instead of pins. You could make a poster of a ball field and paper baseballs for the kids to stick on, the one closest to the outfield (home run) would win. I do lots of searches online and always find things that we can change to our theme. Alo, some of the party stores used to sell minature baseball caps that you could put a scoop of ice cream into for each kids. Just be creative my granddaughters (4 & 6) always come up with ideas too, Have fun Paulette
Good morning!
Monica, If I had realized your sister lives in Rockford, I would have made plans to meet you , at least briefly! I'm going to PM you my phone number in case you see this!
I wish the rest of you a lovely Sunday! We have no plans, but might cook out if the weather cooperates. Last night we had another fabulous dinner at Saffron with some friends.
I love these long weekends! Hope you enjoy them too!
