Good morning girls and boys of Lincoln Land. WOOHOO - a three day weekend. It is the kick off of Itasca's summer this Monday with the Memorial Day Parade. It starts the festivities for the three months with concerts in the park, family movie nights in the park, Itasca Fest, National Night Out, pool fun nights you name it this town comes together.  What's cook'n with ya all  We have a bunch of errands we need to get done before heading off to Willow to serve lunch. Combining all that we can to save on gas.  I am meeting up with a girl there from the photography team because I think it is a ministry I would love to be a part of. It will probably mean a new camera - a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) as opposed to the simple point and shoot digital I just bought. Oh boy new gadgets for me. Just going to futz around the yard the rest of the weekend with a few trips to a small green house near by. This one I can ride my bike to and save on gas. Have a great day ya all  & Christine ps - I have been around all week mostly lurking. Still do not have the new router in and sometimes there are computer "issues" plus other busy, busy stuff around the house. I have not fogotten ya all.

Good morning Christine,

I have a dslr  - Canon digital rebel xt and upgrading to a 5d in the next couple of weeks.  Photography is my hobby and my passion.  I mostly do portraiture, but also do some landscape and action.  I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have about cameras and taking pictures.  I am trying to figure out how to convert my photos to jpeg from raw on line so I can post some here.  I shoot manual and do all my own post processing.

You have a busy day ahead of you, it is supposed to be nice today.  Have a wonderful day!

Gina ps  I have been in lurk mode lately b/c we have had so much going on I barely have time to breathe. I am so looking forward to doing absolutly NOTHING on monday!  My husband has to have surgery on 4 herniated discs and is not able to do anything lately, so we are just taking it easy this weekend.

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels......

Hi Christine. I was wondering what happened to you, as I haven't heard from you for some time.  My plans for the weekend are very simple, visiting at my sister's today, pool time tomorrow and then resting up on Monday for my return to work on Tuesday, first day since I had my surgery. I'm healing very well but still sore at the port site. Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Hugs, Lucy  Diving

Good Morning my wonderful IL family!

Today is a good day!  The sun is shining, kids aren't whining (yet), the dogs are behaving and I am healthy!!!  Yes I woke up with the feeling that life will be okay and whatever comes my way I will over come it one way or another.

Today, I am heading to Tyler's baseball game this morning, it starts at 10am, then my ex and I are taking him to Kohl's for his formal wear for his dance next week.  Then I am going to tell my ex to take Tyler to lunch and I will do some shopping of my own!  lol  I want to find a cute summer dress or skirt for Tyler's graduation next week, since all I can still wear is sweats...LOL

After that it will be home, maybe a little nap and then I am going to church!  I have no idea who will come with me, but I have a lot to be thankful for and I feel truly blessed so I am going to start going to church.  We found a very nice Lutheran church not far from our house that is affiliated with the one that Mike went to growing up and his mom still attends.

Tomorrow my sister and I with our 3 bio kids only are heading out to our other sister's house for a BBQ.  Yes it might be mean, but I told Mike that I needed some time away from  him and Austyn and he was okay with it.  I just want a day with no fighting from Austyn.  This is the only way to do it.

Monday, no plans....depends on the weather if any garden work will get done, by Jacob for me..lol

Have a wonderful, fun, safe and joyful weekend all!

Monica

Hi everyone...is it every going to get warm here in Illinois!  Geez I'm tired of this. My son graduates next Wednesday from 8th grade....I'm terrified of the pictures....geez one day this will pass, but I hate pictures of myself.  But I think I'll use it to my advantage, when I'm going through ruff times on my liquid diet...or scared of having the surgery I'm going to look at those pictures and say NO MORE!  NO MORE FAT MOM!  By High School graduation, I'll be looking HOT! LOL ok I'm done with my rant ! Hope everyone has a good day off.  My brother is cooking Sunday...he's a Chef so I love when he cooks

Good morning Christine and Illinois,  Sounds like everyone will be busy, busy.  Us too.  Earl & I are about to head out to the Farmers Market ( we have a great one in town) Get some more vegies and fruit. We always seem to see some friends there too.  When we get back I'm having a "girls day out" with my daughter Jen and her 2 girls, Cheyanne & Samantha.  Taking the girls to the big park in Frankfort so Jen & I can catch up and walk while the girls play. It's a great park as we can walk around the playground area and still be close to the girls. Tomorrow it's church and BBQ, thanks to Dawn I have a couple new recipes to try.  Monday, since it is supposed to rain we'll stay close to home. Earl is tearing our bedroom apart (big job) putting new insulation in the walls, updating the wiring and new drywall. He promised it'll be done and ready to paint in 2 weeks.  Have a great weekend everyone. Paulette : )

Hi my friends!

Sounds like everyone has a full weekend! Mine is more simple. Yesterday I knit a vase and felted it. For those of you who wonder about this (Kay included) it is not a vase you pu****er in, you  use for for decoration or  you put artificial flowers in it. Well the first one turned out cute, so I dug up some old wool in the basement which I've had at least 20 years and made another for my office. The felting process takes a while because the wool has to be washed and allowed to dry and then washed again. So by Monday both should be done. But of course, now I just want to knit and make more. I'll have to set  up a stand at the street like a lemonade stand! One of my friends said, "you know we'll all be getting them for Christmas!". Perhaps not, but it would be fun to make little Christmas stocking and felt them for ornaments!

One good thing about being obsessed with knitting is that you can't snack and do it!
