Hi all, good morning. I had my surgery on Tuesday. What an experience. I am starting to feel a little better today. Just some cramping on the inside. I am so glad this is over. Now I have to force myself to eat and drink. ALl I would eat in the hospital is a couple bites of jello a day, plus my water. Is this normal to not want anything? I came home last night on my phase 2 diet, full liguids, soups, jello, cream of wheat. But I just dobnt want to eat anything. Normal or no? I dont even know if i can get all this water down. But anyways, I am finally home, and the worst part is over i think. Even those dang drains already came out, they werent even painful like i thought they would be. Hope everyone has a good day!!! Hey Tracy!!!  YES, it's very normal to not feel hungry after your surgery... I'm about 5-1/2 weeks out from my surgery and panicked when I started actually feeling hungry!!!    I didn't think we were supposed to feel hungry after we had this surgery... but I was told that this is normal... some of the hungry I think is in my head!  Each day that you wake up you'll feel SO much better, it's really amazing!!!!  And once you get your drain out you'll feel like a entirely new person!!!   Congrats and good luck.

Congrats and welcome to the loser's bench!

Yes it's normal to want to eat anything, at least it was for me. I had to force myself to eat.  now it's easier but I do notice that I stil don't really get "hungry" yet so I want to watch the clock too.

You will do great!!

Monica

Congrats!! Everything you feel is so normal. I know right now you think that everything is different from what life used to be like, atleast that is how I felt. But I promise that in no time you feel like a normal person and to top things off you'll be feeling great as well. The most important thing right now is to sip on ur water and get ur protien drinks in, everything else kinda falls into place and it goes by so fast. Take care Measha

Thank you all, really. actually feel a little better this morning. Im eating some soup right now. Im going to try no pain meds today, Im really not in a whole lot of pain right now, so i think i should be ok. I know i need to do some protein drink today, i have tried cream of wheat and cream soup and a small ounce of cheesecake pudding last night, yes it was sugar free and fat free, lol. My friend had to feed it to me because i just didnt want anything, and he said i had to get something in, so thanks to him, i feel good trhis morning. Thanks all, byu the way, i can already tell weight coming off in my face, how weird it comes off so fast.
