Monday Roll Call

Hi All, Another chilly day in the neighborhood.  We went on the bike ride yesterday and it was good.  About 4 miles but a lot of hills.  I steped on the scale and haven't lost anything in 2 days.  I know I shouldn't weigh in as much as I do, but what can I say.  Yesterday I had tuna salad puree and spagetti sauce puree and both tasted good.  No problems getting them down either.  I know that thweight will continue to come off steadily, but of course, I want it now!  Oh well, I guess I will need to learn patience.  Have a great day!  Paul

Good morning one and all, yes it is chilly/willy here also . It is 31 here at the moment, but sunny.    I even see frost on the roof of the next building over at this motel. We will get ready for bfast here soon, pack the car, will go over to the outlet mall, walk that then head home. We do not really need to get home until later.  In the past Dave always had a Monday morning conference call and he needed to get home and check e-mails. With him being laid off we have not had that pressure.  BUT are you ready    The company Dave interviewed with in TX called and said they are putting together a package and are going to make him an offer.  Him and another guy are being offered Man Rep postitions, in fact the other guy is already in contact with customers with the companies ok etc. We have been celebrating (in the good way, we behaved and did not do anything crazy) with praise to God.  Yesterday we went back to the car show and took the fire bucket ride to see all the cars and of course I took pictures. There was only about 1/2 of the cars there as the day before. We sat on a side street and watched them all exit the grounds with their cruising parade and them all going home. Later on we walked to a fav. rest. that serves prime steaks (upper crust with linens on the tables) and shared a walley dinner. This place makes it the best I have ever had, not deep fried but lightly sauteed. Paul, I would suggest that you put the scale away or give it to someone for safe keeping. Put it somewhere that you cannot easily get to. I put mine in the shed for a while.  Some people only go by the doctor's scale and they never get on one at home. Let your clothing tell you if you are loosing and the little wows that come with the recovery. It will not be too much longer and you will get your first fill and then you will have some more weight victories.  Take care all.  &

Oh Chris I am so happy for Dave!!  That is such great news.

As for the scales....I only weigh myself when I feel like it, and have decided that if it doesn't move, oh well. I am not sweating it anymore.  I have a program on my computer that I keep track of my home scale weights because it's so off from the Dr's.  lol

Good Morning Paul , Christine, and the rest of Illinois.  Paul, I totally agree with Christine, PUT THAT SCALE AWAY! Until you get a fill,  you will not really know what you weigh. At this time, you either have a couple of ccs in, or none at all. I only count as fact what I weigh at the DR.s office,  Not much going today, just work. I need to start cleaning my office up for our next program, The one I work is almost over, and I wont find out until the 30th what the summer schulde is. Since I will be getting Soc. Security starting next month, if I am not working for the summer, I won't be able to get unemployment. One more trial for getting older.AND I DID NOT SAY OLD! I don't think this crazy weather is going to help the garden any. We now need warmth along with the sun. DH is talking about not doing the pool this summer. We need a new liner, but it will be mid June at the earliest to get to use it. My feelings are its cheaper to get the new liner and fill it, then it would be to redo an entire yard. I am sure he will do the pool, its just pulling teeth to get it done.  Hope everyone has a productive day, HUGS

Good morning Paul and the rest of my IL family, Paul you are doing good but the scale is evil  I hate mine, I can get on mine 4 x's in a roll and weight differnt every time.  Christine sound's like you had a good time in the Dell's . I am going their the 4th of June with some friends for a overnight stay. I can't wait, As I have never been their before, only once to the water park, but never to doing anything else,  Lisa, I wish we had a pool. but with this cool weather do you think you will every get to get in it? I think the warm weather is going to skip over us this year. Yesterday we worked on my MIL's house again, the only thing left to do now is clean up the back yard. and then it goes up for sale, Today I am doing the Launderer  and cleaning the house, and then tonight off the the IL support group meeting,  Hope everyone has a good day.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

It's not the only group in IL. A lot of docs or programs have one. We just started ours, because there are a lot of us here and no "official" group. Jus****ch the board, or look back through the old posts and you may find one close to you. Of course, if you want a road trip............you're always welcome!

Hi Lynne and welcome to the board...don't worry about doing anything wrong, you're doing just fine.   You will find so much support here, I'm sure it will help you pre-op and post-op!  Like Connie said if you want a road trip our support group is tonight or there could be others that might be closer for you. Good morning Everyone, Paul......hide the scale!  Don't worry, at the rate you're going those pounds will melt right off!  I love the new avatar of your family!  Hi Christine!   I am SO HAPPY to hear that good news about Dave!  Well deserved!  It sounds like you are having a really good time up in those Dells!   I am jealous, but I like the fact you both take time out for yourselves to do those trips!    I am dying to see you in that wedding dress!!!! Lisa....you're not old......you are just at a age that the government wants to give you a paid vacation!   If only it could kick in when you want it to! Janet I will see you tonight!  I like our little support group! I think it's fun.  I think it's so nice that your husband comes....he must be so supportive of you!  I have been so busy at work,  a new software system is coming in and lots of changes are happening along with a layoff, first one they ever had!  I'm safe for now  but they are going to be getting rid of my boss so I have am having a crash course of his 20 years of doing his job!  Yikes!   Anyways everyone have a good day!  Pam
