Good evening everyone. I got home from the hospital this afternoon. I was so tired and in pain, so I took my pain med and went to sleep. Although I came through this surgery, it was one of the worst experiences for me. It didn't have anything to do with how I tolerated the surgery. I had a difficult time with some of the folks at ABMC. I had the opportunity though to report them. On a positive note, I am full with my clear liquids. I won't have a fill for 4 weeks. I am not hungry in the least. I'll be a good girl and not get on the scale until I see Dr. Guske next week. I found out that my gallbladder was large and I had a stone in my bile duct. Incidentally, I also had a hiatal hernia and my pouch moved upwards. I haven't been able to discuss this with Dr. Guske yet. Unfortunately, Judy was making rounds for him. I hate that about the group! So I am resting! Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. I'll be coming here for some great support and advise. Hugs and Love, Lucy

Hi Jenn. I never thought I would be so sore after the lap band, I am not hungry at all. I even don't want to drink either. Hopefully, I'll start feeling better in a few days. Thanks Lucy

I am so glad you are home. Make sure you get all the water you can drink in, rest as much as you can. I didn't have an issue with the staff when I had the lapband done, butI did report one nighttime team when I had my heart surgery. Not sure what happened to them, but I never saw them again for the next 8 days. Hugs

Hi Lisa. You had the lap band, did you have a lot of soreness at the port site? I feel that the lap band is more painful then having the RNY. That surprised me! I am glad to be home. I didn't have a good experience at ABMC this time. Hugs, Lucy

Hi Lucy!! I'm so glad your home and feeling okay. I almost hunted you down in the hospital yesterday when I was there, but figured you'd be pretty out of it still.

Do you like Judy from the office? I find her to be more "harsh", not sure if that's the word, but it's Karyn that I just LOVE!! I always make my appts with her. I'm sorry you had problems with people there, but glad that you got to report them. In the 2 weeks I was in the hospital, I did complain to the head of the radiology department about 2 of his girls that were there cussing and just being very obnoxious about boyfriends and whatnot. They were behind a curtain but they were loud and I heard them in the hallway. I just don't think that's the time or place to be talking like they were.

Hi Monica. I don't like Judy either. She seems to think her shi# doesn't stink. When I made my post-op appointment, they tried to get me to see Judy. I said no, I want to see Dr. Guske. Finally, she caved in and gave me an appointment for next Thursday at 6:30 pm. I can't believe how much more painful this surgery is than when I had my RNY. Thanks Lucy
