Well, I can hardly believe it that in one week I will be laying in bed recovering from my upcoming lap band surgery.  I am so excited, nervous, giddy, emotional- all of it!! I can hardly contain myself and the endless possibilities that life has to offer me now that I am taking control of my life.  Knowing I am doing this I know in the end I will be helping my family, husband, kids, etc. by showing them that their is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am excited to show my family that we can change the relationship we have with food and learn to make better choices. I will say that learning the last week to find things to eat while being on the liquid/clear diet makes foods that were not even on my list be TOP on my list now!!  LOVE ME SOME SUGAR FREE JELLO & PUDDING!! Well, this weekend and the next few days it is going to get a little harder and I hope maybe easier as I progress to more broth, water &  protein shakes!! YUM! However, I am curious for females out there beings we lose weight slower than most men.....with the lap band how long did it take to get a fill and also how much approximately did you lose in the months following the lap band??

I can't answer you Lap-Band questions, but I wanted you to know that you are completely normal in having those feelings.  You will be AMAZED at how your life will change in the next 6 months.  By Christmas, you will be a new woman!

Tell someone that you love them!

I hope this week goes quickly for you. Your life is changing and so are you!  I had surgery 4-8-08 (almost 6 weeks) I weighed 245 on the day of surgery. As of this morning I weigh 231. So I've lost 14 pounds since surgery.  I don't feel that is losing slow. It is at least  two pounds per week.  There are times when I weigh a little less and then days where I weigh a little more. I had my first fill at 4 weeks.

Your day will be here before you know it and you too will join us on the losers bench, Congrats. As I am not a lab bander, I can't answer your question, just want to congrats you on you up coming surgery.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
