I Have My Surgery Date

Hello, my surgery date is May 27th. I am excited and nervous. I worry about the food I am going to eat and if I will be able to do it and also the surgery. Being put to sleep is a scary thing but this is something I need to do for myself in order to be healthier.  Did anyone have any trouble with their Lap Band? What is this gas that I see people writing about?

Hi thre!  congrats on getting your surgery date!!  You are in good hands with Dr Kane.  That whole group is awesome...I would know I have dealt with every one of them!  LOL
I didn't have the Lap Band, but I think the gas you are talking about it from them pumping your stomach up with gas to be able to move around better inside. It can be painful the first couple of days as it travels to your shoulders, usually the left, and escapes.

Congratulations on getting a date for the beginning of a new life! I did not have Lap Band, nor did I have much trouble with the gas (which Monica explained very well), so don't worry, you will do fine if you just follow your doctor's instructions. Welcome to the board!
