I was able to steer clear of most processed carbs for most of my first year post op.  They do bad things to my blood sugars and don't help withthe weight loss either...at least for me. I did find some soy chips that I would get for a snack now and again when I just had to have something crunchy.  At least they had some protein n them.  I got them in the "natural" food isle at Dominick's at the time but I'm sure theyhave them all over.
Regards and hugs,

I agree with Ronna to stay away from them and stay with protein, fruits and veggiesx. I was not cleared to eat them until I was 3 months out.  Christine

I was recently at a meeting where we talked about crackers.  The diatician said that it is best to get some sort of whole grain cracker and put peanutbutter on it.  Her big point was to make sure that you were adding a substantial amount of protein to this carb. Paul

Hi Monica, I too was told to stay away from carbs until I was 6 months or longer if I could, Now the only crackers I eat are called Grains First Whole Grain Crackers. they are very good  in a serving of 4 crackers is 90 cal. 3 g. total fat. 12 g carbs 1 sugar and 2 g. protein, Now I only eat them two or three times a week, and I put cheese and meat on them or sometimes Nautual Peanut butter. Oh I buy my crackers at Woodman's they just had them on sale for I think 1.35 a box   Glad that you are feeling better now. and are on the mend. take care.
