Good morning Illinois and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you great mom's out there!  I am having a bit of pain in my side due to my bladder infection so I'm up a little early.  But I don't want to take any pain meds, so I'm just putting up with it.  On the positive front, I am getting liquids down with no problems now!  It is getting easier to make my 64 ounces!  My incisions are not bothering me and my energy is slowly coming back.  Other than the bladder stuff, I'm almost back to normal!  I am, however, getting bored with clear liquids.  One more week to go.  We adopted another cat yesterday and she's really cute.  Her name is Annie and she's already coming out of her shell.  Even though the other two cats are growling at her, I woke at 3am to find her in bed with us and purring away like mad.  The kids are in heaven.  My plan is to make my wife breakfast, and then to install a new child seat on my wife's bike.  She wants to go for a ride today with Nic and Meredith.  I'm not ready for that much activity, but I'm happy to see them do it.  Then we may take the kids to a movie and avoid the rain.  I hope everyone has a great day, especially you moms! Good morning Paul and all my IL friends.  Happy Mom's day to all you moms and step-moms-have a great day.  I will be spending mine @ CDH w/Eddie-he was admitted Thurs. a.m. w/a virulent infection in the finger that was operated on 4-2.  He had emergency surgery that night to remove the pins and clean and drain the finger, but now it's as useless as the 1st finger he had operated on. He also developed a wicked infection in one of his toes and they are working diligently to save it. It looks like another 6 wk course of IV anti-biotics-so no work=OUCH in the bankbook. I am just grateful they saved the finger.  C'est la vie-God will provide.  Paul glad you're on the mend, hope that infection clears up soon and an official welcome to the loser's bench.  Monica, SO sorry about your dental woes-I too, am a dentist coward-hope you're better soon-you've had your fill-no pun intended!  Janet, tell Old Country to stuff it and go to one those Lisa and Dawn suggested.  Chris and Dave-have a great walk.  My Laura is a breast cancer survivor-5yrs. this August so it is a cause dear to me as well.  My daughters have made no plans to see me today, but that is as usual, I have said before they are very self-absorbed and that doesn't change on Mother's day.  You all run between the rain drops and have a great day-Big Hugs-Janet K P.S.- I would dearly appreciate some prayers for Eddie's speedy recovery-this is really draining us financially and emotionally-I forgot to mention that Tuesday's eye surgery went VERY WELL.  Now we wait to see if his vision returns.  Thursday night's operation was his 23rd since the 1993!

Happy Mother's Day Illinoisans!

We went out to breakfast with some friends quite early this morning to avoid the rush. There were people waiting outside by the time we finished. We also went to Saffron again last night since the Friday night meal was so delicious. Kay had the biggest prawns I've ever seen and I had scallops with mango sauce. Yum! Now tonight we are having all the leftovers we brought home for another wonderful dinner. I really could eat fish every night if someone else cooked them!

No other plans for today--except laundry and other regular chores. Kay wanted to work outside: that's not going to happen. We need the rain and it's gentle enough to be valuable.

Have a great day!

Connie

Good Morning to all, and Happy Mother's Day.   You Guys get your special day next month.  Yesterday we did get all the flowers that I had at home planted. Plus the tomato plants. I was going this morning to get pepper plants and a few other things, but with this wind and rain, I will pick things up tomorrow after work. I really can't see us in the yard today.  We spent last evening with the girls, had a nice dinner at Duffy's, an Irish pub in Utica. Utica is an up and coming resort area, 2 hours from the Chicago area. The Grand Bear Resort is there, plus another one on I-80, not sure of the name, plus bunches of little specialty shops. It could be a day trip, or for a weekend getaway. Did I mention its only 2 hours from Chicago? Today I am in the mood to cook, so I am making a roast of some kind. Also hit the gaselle for a while. I might even get to my scapebooking.  Otherwise it will be a quiet day. Janet K, I am so sorry to hear about your Eddie's medical problems. God has given you a load to carry, but it will all get better. Just remember, we are here for you.  Paul, I hope you get that seat on Liz's bike and that she will be able to ride today. It still is a mess out there. Connie, have a good day, your leftovers sound great. Last night I just had hot wings, and still brought half of them home.  Hugs

Good Rainy Morning Paul and Illinois! Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms here. We went out to breakfast this morning. I can't get a hold of my mother. I'm trying to call her to find out what's a good time to come over today. Since she didn't attend Vince's party yesterday we couldn't make plans. Will go see my MIL when they get back from dinner later. I'm going to tape Survivor tonight so I can watch the whole thing tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a wonderful soggy day!

Happy Mothers Day all you Mommies!!!! My day will be spent going with my mom to see her mom, my granny is 95 so as they say this could be he last! At that age every day is special! I had my mothers day with all my kids yesterday at a tball game and we had a great time! I am watching the wind blow very hard here today, it has twisted up some of the fruit trees we planted this year so we will need to baby these for awhile! My pool water level is low so I am hoping it stays in the usuable upright way it should be. Oh well its May in Illinois.   I just also want to say I believe in gaurdian Angles....Mine saved me yesterday afternoon. My son had taken me out fo Mothers Day lunch I was driving, we were on interstate 74 when an older man came straight for me driving the wrong way with a concret wall on our side and traffic on the other side, with a semi right on my back side. I can not tell you why but I just stopped, started pumping my brakes to warn the semi man. He was going very fast. He did understand because he went around us barely. I tried to stop the man to help him turn around but I believe he was so scared he did not understand. Then the cops were coming so I went on. Said my thank yous to God for not letting him get hurt and for not letting me either. I can not explain why but I never gave any thought to trying to stop the semi from hitting this man head on. He would have if I did not just stop he was going to fast!!!!!!!!! So Thank you God for another day with my family! Karen

Edit: I went and bought me a new pair of jeans, and oh my gosh.....you will not believe this.....  I GOT A SIZE 14!!!!!!!!  I have gone from a size 22 at surgery in December to a size 14 in under 5 months.  I was doing a happy dance   .  So this has been a major WOW couple of weeks.    Now, I keep walking around sing I'M TOO SEXY (Right Said Fred) in my head. Good Afternoon and Happy Mothers Day.. Well, I did not make it to the gym like I had wanted but oh well.  Not much going on for me, but I do have to make a trip to walmart to buy a new pair of blue jeans.  The ones I have are way beyond the belting stage and I look like I am carrying a load in the backside.  I also have homework to finish and some other odd and ends to do and that is about it for me. Paul, I hope that you get rid of that infection soon.  If you can have it yet, get some Cranberry juice that is good for clearing up those types of infections.  Monica, I hope that everything goes well with the dentist.  Chris & Dave, make sure you take some warm clothes with you as this weather makes the bones ache.   My get well prayers and thoughts are going out to Eddie.... I apologize if I missed any one.  Stay dry and warm.
Wendi

We have been home for about 45 minutes now. We did dress appropriately for the weather in layers and had rain ponchos on. We got down to the grounds at Grant Park and it was raining so hard that we looked at one another and said let's go. Also our friends that we were to meet could not make it. If it had not been raining so bad we would have walked the 3 miles.  We walked over to a Panera Bread for breakfast right across from the Auditorium Theater and decided to go to Willow Creek's Chicago campus service, yeah it is held at the Auditorium Theater. Heard a great Mom's day message and walked back to the train station. As we were eating breakfast the rain was getting worse and worse. Oh well it was the thought that counts in regards to the walk. We did donate some money when we signed up and that is tax deductable - next year maybe.  We are going out here in a short while as it is our 34th anniversary. We are going to a place in Elk Grove Village called Charlies Charhouse. Been there a few times before and it is really good. Christine
