Could someone please help me I'm starting my liquid diet tomorrow and I need some suggestions of how some of you got through it, and what type of liquids did you use?  I do have a list of things to choose from, but the items listed are sugar-free, but contains aspertain which I can't stand the after-taste, I would rather not have any sweetner at all.  Please someone help me.....

Well, my liquid phase was just for the day before surgery. I could have anything that was clear like broths, Crystal Light types of drinks, decaf iced tea and such. I might have been able to have jello but I cannot really recall. I noticed you mentioned nothing with Aspartame - I just looked at my boxes of the tubes for the bottled water and the Propel and Lipton flavored tubes have Sucrose (Propel) and Splenda (Lipton). you could brew your own decaf tea and chill it for iced tea. You can do the same with decaf coffee and make iced coffee. GNC has some some clear flavored protein drinks. It is called Isopure. They are sweetned with Aspartame free, Sucralose. Here is the info http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2612796&cp=21 67077.2844869.2844879.2844890&parentPage=family I am not sure how long you are to be on the liquids and what types. Sometimes doctors will let you have protein drinks etc. I would review your list again and maybe take a trip to the grocery store and see what else you can get so you do not get bored with what you are having. Thank you Christine, I have to be on my liquids for 2 weeks and I should mention anything with an artifical favoring, I can't keep down.  I did go over my list and it looks like I'm down to only water, tea, some juices, gelatin, kool-Aid, yogurt, popsicles all sugar free and broth.

hello!  i am on day 10 of my liquid diet!  i drink three adkins advantage shakes a day and do use the sugar free substitutes as plain water  would drive me nuts for two weeks and i don't like iced tea, teas, etc.  i am allowed broth too two servings a day.  you can do it.  i will admit that the first 5 days were tough as i had carb and caffeine withdrawls.  headache and tired.  and not feasible for a mom of two little ones who works part time too.  i would start to get comfy and go to bed about 10 min before my husband would come home and then he'd take over so i could get a couple hours of sleep.  then i would wake up for an hour or two to spend time wiht him and off to bed for the night.  good luck! you will do great!

Thank you so much for that encouragement.  Congrats you only have a few days to go.  I hope that everything from this point on is easy for you....  Today, day 1 was ruff...but I survived and if I can do it anyone can.  I am really tired and feel like I don't have any energy left.  But I'm still excited and nervous all at the same time.
