Okay, so here's the deal, I went to the Dr for my one month check up today and I have only lost another 3 pounds in 2 weeks.  I am kinda sad about that, but I do know that I have come a long way from where I was a month ago too.

So have at it and please get my mind set changed for me and keep reminding me that it's not about the pounds lost...lol

Okay, lady Jane - here is the butt kicking. DO NOT BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF!!  Your body has been through a lot and it is trying its hardest to heal. Maybe you are at the 6 week proverbial plateau 2 weeks early, who knows. What did Dr Rantis or Karyn say about your progress? You will start to spiral downward real soon but only at YOUR body's time clock. It will happen and you will experience what most RNY patients do and that is to loose weight when you seemingly just stand on your head. Please lighten up on yourself Chris

Thank you Chris.

Dr Rantis and Karyn both said that I am doing great and Dr R even said I was a wonderful patient for all I've been through.  Every time I go, he pops in to say hi!  lol  It's so cute.  I have to increase my fiber though, I have been having a very hard time pooping lately and it hurts.

I am also cleared to swallow pills now too...so they said I can use any multi vitamin with iron and then the sublingual B12 and calcium citrate.

Thanks again....just what I needed!

Dont be so hard on yourself --- too bad we dont have a "butt kicking smiley". As long as you follow the plan, protein, water and excersise the weight WILL come off.
Regards and hugs,

Ronna

Thank you Ronna and you are right.  In time it will fall off of me.  I think part of it is that I haven't really been able to exercise the way I should be because of pain and everything else.  But I have been walking and I know that I will do great!

You ladies are wonderful!  thanks so much

You are FINE!  What Chris said......... Your body is trying to figure what happened to the truck that hit you.  Did you really lose 27 lbs in a MONTH????  When was the last time you did THAT? On the other hand, I know how it feels to see the scale stand still, but it will be moving for you any minute now and you will be feeling better each day.

You are right about losing 27 pounds in a month...can't remember when that happened before....if ever!  Okay I am proud of my self....now if I can just figure out how to get more fiber in my diet so I can regulate myself...this is getting bad here.  Might have to send Mike out for some Metimucil or something like that.

My doctor recommends Benefiber & Colace, the Metemucil does something that is not desirable. I have the same problem.  I still take the generic Colace (stool softener--NO laxitive) but not the Benefiber much any more.  The Benefiber is tasteless and you can just mix it into Crystal LIght or something like that.  DO NOT mix it into a protein shake as it binds to the protein and carries it away, out of your body before it is absorbed. Benefiber 2-3 times a day with a couple of stool softeners should get it going. If not, I hear that the Miralax works wonders, although it is pricier. I now take Magnesium Oxide capsules, 400 mg, 2-3 per day and am more regular that I was pre-op.  I take them during the day with my Calcium Citrate and vitamin D (I'm low on D).  I then take the stool softeners at night, before bed.  I get the Magnesium Oxide from Vitacost.com.  I have not found it in the store, that is why I suggest the Benefiber and stool softeners first. Maybe this will help?

Well  Monica I have lost that much in 2 months....and I am being patient...I am not exercising so I know if I did it would be better. I started taking 2 stool softners(generic colace) a day and it getting somewhat better but I may need to do something else.  You are doing great!
