I have a date

I finally got approved through my insurance and just finished all the other requirements prior to surgery. The surgeons office said they would request a surgery date the week of May 19th. I am looking forward to one of those days that week.  It was long process just over a year before I got an approval. Hopefully my health will improve with my expected weight loss.

I know you are happy!  Are you having Lap Band, or RNY?  You got thru the main hump.....the insurance company!  Your surgery date will be here before you know it!  Congratulations! Pam

Carol, How long ago did you have the lapband? What has your weight loss been like? Did you have any second thoughts about the procedure?  Also how do you get that ticker tape at the botton of your posts? Thanks a bunch.

I had surgery on 4-8-08. I weighed 245 on the day of surgery. This morning I weighed 235. So I have lost 10 pounds in 28 days. For me that is fantastic.  From my first visit to the Dr. ,thru the 6 month supervised diet til now I have lost 51 pounds. For me that is a major accomplishment. I had done this before only this time I know it is not coming back because I have the tool to keep it away! I have no regrets. In 3 weeks I was off my blood pressure meds and my pcp lowered the dosage of my thyroid med.  I think everyone has second thoughts before the surgery. It's the fear of the unknown, the fear of failure, etc. Those fears are common. I only wish I had done this years ago. For the ticker go to tickerfactory.com/weightloss You can design your own there. Thanks for the information. I am wondering about everything I do not need to right now. I kow I will be healthier and can get off some of these meds. I am wonder about the diet that has to be eaten and I am getting nervous about that, but this is something I need to do for myself to perhaps add some more years on my life.
