my theory is that by doing two weeks of a liquid protein diet, it makes me think how taking small bites, not eating carbs, etc is going to be a cake walk!!!  can you believe that i am longing for some pureed meat!!!!   I am allowed one meal a day of 4 ounces of protein and 1/2 cup of non starch veggies but the doctor said that if i can avoid that, then by all means just take another can of protein shake and i will lose more weight to jump start my weight loss. this is what i am doing.  3 days down..i KNOW i can keep this up but hahaha i think yesterday i felt like that lion from that disney madagascar movie where i looked at my husband and he looked like a t-bone steak last night!

I know exactly how you feel... towards the end of my liquid fast (you're lucky, mine was protein shakes, med pc of fruit and 3/4 C veggies - we didn't get the 4 oz of protein!!!) I was waking up CRAVING Steak!!!!  MMMmmmm.... still sounds good!  LOL!  BUT, the liquid fast was the start of my weight loss journey... I ended up losing 8 pounds on the liquid fast....  I'm sure you will lose weight on it too!   Just keep thinking of the great big picture... one of the greatest tips I got on the fast was to sip chicken broth.... it really did make a difference and help me keep on track....

Hi Karey, you CAN do it! I lost 14.5 pounds on the post op diet.

I'm on day 11 of the pre-op diet and the thought of pureed protein still grosses me out.  I just don't know how I'm going to do that.  It is so wierd how the pre-op and post-op diet varies so much depending on who your doc is.  Of course I have to pick the one that insists I put my meat in a blender!   With that said, I would not change surgeons.  I think Dr. Lahmann is really great.  Just wish I could go from liquids to mushies like everyone else.
