I guess I'm the first up!  Last night we went to Downtown Disney and it was sort of like going to the theme park.  Lots of shopping and food.  I didn't buy anything, but we did have dinner at a fish and chips place.  I skipped the potatoes, but I still feel like there's a million tons of sand in my stomach!  I suppose the up side is that we walked about 2 miles.  Although my boss and I both survived the cuts yesterday, a good friend didn't.  She was good at her job, but young and easily disposable.  I'm sure she will land on her feet, but it is hard seeing others go.  We are hoping to complete the bulk of our remaining work today and then go to Universal tomorrow if we can.  The General Manager down here has offered us some free tickets!  You can't beet that!  Have a great day! Paul

Hey Good morning Illinois and Paul!  My brother is in Flordia right now with a group of friends. He's not on buisness his time is pleasure. We get free tickets when we go to Disney because I have an Aunt that works in accounting there. So when we get there we call her office and she meets us at the gate!!! That makes our trips to disney affordable with the fuel cost.  Well hope you enjoy your trip! Prayers are being said for the pre and post-op friends here. Also for those who just are having a string of bad luck. Enjoy the day Illinois the SUNNNNNN is SHINNINGGGGG> The birds are singing and we are all alive!!!  :) Enjoy Karen

Good morning, Yes the sun is shining, and no rain is forcasted.  Its another work day for me. Its also hump day. YEAH!  Has anyone else noticed how fast the weeks go? April just started, and tomorrow is May Day.  In a little over 4 weeks we will be going on vacation to Tn. We were told yesterday at work, if you want to take vacation time, it needs to be  in June or August. That tells me that I will be working all summer, probly only a couple of days a week, but in July we have a new program starting. Hence, no July vacations. Paul, it looks like you dodged the bullet. Hopefully, your job knows a good worker and keeps you. Good Luck Saturday, and give our love to Pam. Got to get moving.  Hugs

Good morning Paul and the rest of IL, No much going on here today. My hip feels a little better today, I do neet to go to the store for a few thing, maybe get out in the sunshine later today, Hope everyone has a great day,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good morning Paul and Karen and all of Illinois! My vacation is almost here. I'll be leaving on Sunday, May 4th and returning on Sunday, May 11th to sunny Arizona. We'll drive from Phoenix up to Sedona where I have a 2 bedroom cottage condo unit. My sister is coming with me. I wanted to ride the hot air balloon on my birthday, Monday 5/5 but they were all booked. So I am taking a balloon ride on Friday 5/9. Yesterday I saw the nutritionist at ABMC and went over the lapband diet. She was very good and answered my questions. I'm sure though that I'll need the guidance from my soon to be fellow bandsters, so I'll be calling you!!! Today's a very busy day at work with 2 meetings. After work, it's off to the beauty shop to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed...can you say OUCHIE?? I have to be NPO after 10 pm for my pre-op testing at ABMC tomorrow morning. Blood work, upper GI and ultrasound of my gallbladder. I should find out the time of my surgery. I hope it's 7:30 a.m. Lots to do and get done before Sunday and I sure don't feel like doing anything.... Hope everyone is well. Paul I'm glad that you are having a good time in Disney and thank goodness that you still have a job! Hugs, Lucy

Good Morning IL family

Paul I hope you get to go to Universal today, it's my all time favorite place in Orlando.  have some fun for me please, I need it.  lol

Today I woke up with a weird pain in my pouch.  Not sure what it is, but hopefully it will go away so I can go to Tyler's baseball game tonight, but we shall see.  If it doesn't I will be calling Dr Rantis's office to see what they say.  I have to admit, I get scared thinking about calling them after what happened last time...I do not want to end up back at the hospital for anything.  I still can't tolerate my vitimins either, they really make my pouchie grouchie, so not sure what to do there either.

Random question here, how soon can a person develop an ulcer?  Things around my house are pretty bad and I find myself getting very upset and yelling, I am worried that I am giving myself one.

The sun is shining today and I wi**** was warmer, but I'll take the sun for now!  lol

Have a great day everyone

Monica

Good morning all you early birds, I am off to work in a few minutes.  Yesterday I saw my endocrinologist.  I lost another 5.5 pounds making it 60.5 since surgery.  The honeymoon is officially over and now I'm gonna have to get to work.  I thought that she was going to release me, but due to my low vitamins on my labs, she wants to monitor that. Paul, have fun and enjoy yourself today.  Put all worries behind you.  Monica, I'm not sure about the ulser, but please try to take it easy. Thank you Dawn & Todd for bringing back the sun! Have a great day Illinois. ~Michelle

Good morning you early birds! No vacation plans here, we used up my hubby's vacation days going to San Fran for my DS surgery. I envy all of you and your exciting plans! Maybe next year we'll go somewhere via plane again! Typical day here--schlepping kids to and from school.  I hit a slightly discouraging weight loss plateau for the last 2 weeks, but I think I just busted it by adding a ton of fat to my diet, as per DS veterans' advice. I am ever-hopeful! (Plus, I enjoyed the butter!) Have a great day! Nicolle

I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!

HW: 344 lbs      CW: 150 lbs

Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea GONE!
