Wednesday Roll Call

Good Morning all my Illinois Friends!  It looks like another get together is in the works.  I haven't figured out my schedule to know what dates are good, but I'll do my best to be there.  Today I'm feeling a little bit of that "what if I have this band put in and nothing happens" stuff.  I know it's just pre- surgery jitters, but I've tried soooo many ways over the past and had such little success, that this seems like just one more thing to try.  I realize that it is a major tool with lots of documented success, but my mind is playing games on me.  I'm a little depressed that I've been eating very well over the last few months, and my portion control has been good, but I'm still at the same weight I was at when I started.  I have faith that this plateu will end when the band is in, but it's still hard.  The good news is that we've made it to hump day and after this weekend, I'll be in Orlando on a work trip and then straight to my surgery!  Yea!!!  Have a great Wednesday everybody! Good Morning Paul & IL  Paul -  The feelings you are having are so typical.  Our heads do play games on us.  You will be just fine, just stay focused on the prize!  Wow, your big day is right around the corner  Just another work day for me.  Nothing exciting going on in my neck of the woods.  Hope everyone has a great hump day. As far as the get together in June..  Calvin and I would love to open our home to you all.  We missed the last one w/ Lucy and it sounds like it was a great time had by all.   It's looking like the 21st of June is working out better for some.   I know it does not work for all but we'll never be able to get everyone to agree on the same date.  Christina

Good Morning Paul and the rest of my IL family

Today I am taking a shower with no drain hanging from me!  woohoo, though there is an open hole there and all I have to do is cover it good with gauze afterwards.  I am going to rest a lot during the day because tonight  I want to go to the play, Annie, at Tyler and Jacob's school.  Jacob is on the stage crew and doing the lights.  I just hope that I can sit that long on those hard folding chairs.  My back is what is giving me the hardest time and I know it's because of sleeping on the couch still.

Other than that, nothing going on for me.  Oh I am also excited becase I start the pureed stage today.  woohoo

Keeping those who are going through hard times in my prayers.

Have a great day all!

Monica

Good morning Paul, Christina, Monica and Janet. Today I am having the painter come over to my house to see what he would charge to paint the inside of my house. It's really time for it since I had it done back in 1999.  Not much going on with me. Just waiting to go on vacation and then my surgery. Wishing everyone a wonderful day and prayers to those who are going through some difficult times right now. Hugs, Lucy

Good morning Paul and friends,

Nothing exciting going on here, just work today.  I am so ready for a vacation, but its difficult to plan with my daughters schedule being hectic.    I thought all would be fine once she graduated, but she took her intrance exam for college and fell a little short on English, so she has to take a remedial class.  She could retake the exam, but she is excited about taking the class.  The college said that if she would take it over the summer they would give her a full scholarship for that class.  I of course said it would be stupid not to take it, so now we are tied down for the summer.  We are suppose to go to Florida in July, but now who knows.

I'm so glad that Serenity is back home as I continue praying for the family.

Have a great day Illinois and before we know it the weekend will be here.

~Michelle

Good morning Paul and Illinois! Not much happening here today except for housecleaning. My MIL is coming to spend a week with us and I'm looking forward to her arrival Thursday. Must also make sure I have things for her to eat that she enjoys. Can't make her eat the way I do, she would starve to death. Before I take my blood pressure medicine, I take my blood pressure. It has been staying around 108/68. That is without the meds. I'm calling my pcp today to make an appointment with him. It looks like I am off my bp meds!! Paul, the thoughts you are having are normal. I did it too! I'm glad it did not deter me from my surgery. I feel so much better.  Christina, sorry but I'm not available for either day in June.  Monica, glad your doing great! I hope everyone is doing better today. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Have a wonderful day!

Good morning Paul, Janet and the rest of Illinois! I am working today, and have "A Day in Rock City" meeting tonight.  I got my hair trimmed yesterday at lunch and will probably run to Wal-Mart at lunch today to pick up my salad things for our Family Night Mystery Dinner with the Boy Scouts tomorrow. Friday, we are going to take the bus into the city (Union Station) early so that I can take my aunt for a little bit of sight seeing and lunch.  Any suggestions for us?  She is MO and has trouble walking long distances.  We will have about 4 hours to kill. I am happy to hear that Monica is on the mend, and am keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. Have a spectacular day!

Dawn, I will get you some links to info in Chicago. There are free trolleys downtown but I am not sure if they are running yet. You could take a cab to Navy Pier also. Union station is only about 1 1/2 blocks from Sears Tower and you could go up to the observatory. Chris

Thanks Christine! She has been up the Sears Tower, and so have I, for that matter. I have been looking on the web, but I am mostly trying to figure out what is close.  I may take her over to Navy Pier, because that was not built when she was last in Chicago. I thought that there were free trolleys, but I could not find any info on them either. All suggestions are appreciated!

Dawn, according to the travel section on Chgo's website the trolleys start back up after Memorial day. Here is a link that I use on a regular basis to get info on Chgo. http://egov.cityofchicago.org/city/webportal/portalSubChanne lAction.do?BV_SessionID=@@@@1744896203.1208982816@@@@&BV_Eng ineID=cccdadedlmhijhlcefecelldffhdfhg.0&channelId=-9004&topC hannelName=Residents  Millenium Park is about a mile walk from Union Sta. Navy Pier is about 2.75 miles also. How much MO is she? I would consider taking a taxi if she has difficulty walking or will tire out. The pier is I think 3/4 of a mile long, inside and out. It is fantastic for a person that loves to walk and can do it. Greek Town is just a little west of the sta. and has mostly restaurants. There are water taxis on the river which is just outside of the sta. Here is the link http://www.shorelinesightseeing.com/taxis.php Dress warmly because it is real shaded on the river and breezy. Note on the website it says free service for the first two weeks of the season. This goes to Navy Pier and the museums. There is also the Achitectural tours on the Chgo River which are fantastic but you need about 3 hours for that. See the link for the water taxis. There isn't much else around the station other than the Civic Opera House which may have tours and the Chgo Merchantile. Daley plaza is about 5-6 blocks from the sta. This is where the Picasso is at.  Chris
