some questions
Sometimes when I am sipping my water it feels as if there's a rock in my pouch. It just hurts! It goes away eventually, but any ideas on why this is happening?
Also is it normal for me to be having major cravings for "real" food at this point? Last night Jacob and I were cuddling (well the best that I can right now) and he was eating pizza for dinner and I just wanted it SO bad. lol I thought that most people don't have appetites or anything yet...lol
I walked around my court today and that damn wind really hurt my belly....ouch. I can't stand still having this G tube and the staples in my gut, but next Tuesday the 22nd at 2:30pm I will be getting them both out! I really felt sick this morning, but it passed and the days been okay.
Is crying for NO reason at all normal this early too? Sometimes I am just trying to tell the kids or Mike something and I start to cry. They all think I have lost my ever loving mind! lol
Oh yeah and the sucky news is that Austyn came home from school sick today! He's got a horrible sore throat and just feeling icky. This is the child who WON'T cover his nose/mouth when coughing/sneezing....he just doesn't care about anyone but himself. I also found out that while I was gone for so long, Mike wasn't making sure that Austyn was taking his meds....well Austyn decided that since he "felt" better he didn't need to take them! yikes. Good thing I am home and on the mend. lol
Did anyone else here have open ryn? how long before you honestly started to feel better?
Okay done whining....love ya!
Hello my friend.. I can't answer some of your questions.. I had no appetite in the beginning. Look out, it came back. UGH! I had open and was back to work full time after 1 1/2 weeks. I was tired the first week but fealt great by week three.
The crying thing... yes this is VERY normal. Your hormones are all out of wack right now. Tell the boys to just deal with it. LOL
I'm so glad your home and improving.. Just take it one day at a time. Everyone recovers at a difference pace. Listen to your body.

Monica,
Welcome home!! I haven't been on for a while and was surprised to hear of all of your problems. I'm glad that everything is on the mend now.
As for the water, I can help with that. I have the same problem. It has gotten a little better, but not much. Karen, Dr Rantis nurse gave me great advice that works. The water for some reason after surgery feels like lead in our stomachs and I'm told this will alleviate after a while. To fix this, you can't drink straigh****er. You have to mix it with some crystal lite or something. She recommended about a 3 to 1 ratio.
Hormones, all of us women relate. For me it was like being pregnant again. I cried over anything and everything, but I also had anger issues. Where something small would set me off and I would just start yelling. My poor family didn't know how to react.
As for the cravings...I craved everything the whole time I was on liquids. Once I started purees, I was fine.
I'll miss you on Saturday. Take care of yourself, stay healthy, and get lots of rest.
~Michelle
Thanks Michelle.
Just this morning Jacob says to me, "mom can you please tell us when you are crying because you are hormonal or if it's because you hurt?" LOL
He's such a sweetheart.
I discovered today that I can drink a ton of water if it's flavored, but not plain. I am doing okay today with that actually. I used Water Senstations and will also be using Crystal light and things like that for now as well. It also can't be cold, it's got to be room temp for me. Though the sf popsicles don't bother my pouch at all. go figure!
I am going to miss you all on Saturday too!!! I was SO looking forward to this!!
