New to IL forum
I had gastric bypass 3 years ago in California. I now live in Illinois. Over the past 6 months, I've gained about 10 pounds. I figure now is the time to get connected with the tool I have and touch base with people in my same boat. 10 pounds becomes 20 then 30! Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hello and welcome to the IL Board, My name is Janet H. and I had Gastric Bypass last Oct,
Glad you found us, and stop by everyone morning for roll call, would love to get to know you.
I am from California too, I lived in Hemet, Riverside Co. where are you from in Cal.
Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
I almost feel like I am your neighbor and we are in the same boat.
July will be 3 years ago for my surgery and I have gained about 15 pounds over the last 6 - 9 months. I now have about 65 days and I get married. I am doing everything I can to take off those pounds and some of their friends too :)

Yes, definately! We are right next to each other.
I did go shopping and bought a lot of the foods I ate after surgery. Funny thing is, I still can't eat a lot. I just choose to eat the wrong things now that I can! So I know this tool still works, I just need to make better choices. And I live with a thin person who can put away an entire box of cookies and lose weight, so that doesn't help :)
Sure am glad I remembered this site. I think there are such good people on here - both on the CA board and now the IL boad. I relied on this site so much after surgery. It's nice to have that support after as there are all stages and we can all relate.

I lived in Orange County for 12 years, but am "back" in the midwest now.
I certainly would like to try to come Saturday. We have tenative plans to have some people over that evening, but it's 50/50 right now as it's kind of last minute. If not this time, it's something I would definately like to do!
