My God!!!! I'm OCD!

My God....how can I go several months with out weighing myself and now I weigh myself at least 3-4 times a day?  And the depressing thing is that I lost the first 12 pounds soo easy and now I've been at a sliding scal of between 191 and 188 for the past 5 days.  I can tell I need a fill, because I am not feeling full.  I go next week for my first fill.  I have to remember small bites and take time between them.  I sware, sometimes I eat like the food is going to grow legs and run off my plate if I don't eat it fast enough.  I just hope that the fill will help me w/ my portion control and help the weight come off.  Anyway...so should I hide the scale for awhile?  I have been exercising everyday.  I've been walking about 1 1/2-2 miles and feel great!  I'm even getting up the confidence to maybe start to SLOW jog!  My next goal is to run a 5k!  You would think w/ all that walking and playind soccer w/ the team that I would be losing?  My legs have gotten more muscle on them.  That's what I hate!  I look like I have cave women legs w/ huge caves.( is it caves or calf's??)  Okay you can tell I suck at spelling and typing!!! O-well...Thanks for listing.  If anyone of you have stories or suggestions, I will take them w/ an open mind!!!

Kim, I'm no expert, but it sounds like you are doing the right things.  I know that muscle is heavier than fat and you seem to be building your legs up.  So maybe that can explain the slowness in the scale.  I was recently at a meeting and they tallked about "bander's hell".  That is a period of time right before your first fill when you've healed and the swelling has gone down, but the band still needs a fill.  Since there's no pressure from the swelling, the band isn't really doing much.  Unfortunately, we have to wait until the 6th week for the first fill.  Since everybody heals differently, this period can be longer for some.  But the period ends with the first fill!  So hang in there!  You are doing great and the scale will show that.  I do think you may want to put the scale away.  If you weigh yourself every day, you won't get to enjoy the big numbers!  And you'll drive yourself crazy.  After all, you DID lose 12 pounds in a month!  That's very good news.   Paul

You are doing an awesome job on your WL! Bandsters Hell is right. Once you get a few fills in you, it will get easier. Right now the game is all about willpower. Just keep up the good work and you will be to goal before you know it! Theresa, Rockford

Thanks guys!  It's so nice to know that you can talk to people on here about anything!  Yeah, I might hide the scale for a while and get suprised w/ the bid numbers.  It's just that weighing myself everyday in past has always keep me in check.  So I thought.  I guess that didn't work either or I wouldn't have needed this surgery.
