My Visit with Dr. Guske
Good evening. Well I got back from Dr. Guske's about 2 hours ago. I do need to have my gallbladder out. We talked about my weight gain and what can be done to stop me from gaining any more weight. I told him that I can eat a lot more at mealtime and it takes a lot of food for me to feel full. We talked about my options and came to a decision.
In addition to having my gallbladder out, he is going to put in a lap band in order for me to have the restriction feeling I don't have anymore. I asked him about the other revision surgeries, like stomaphyx and he told me that he hasn't seen much success with it in the long run.
His staff is going to check with my insurance company to see if it's covered. I told him that even if it isn't, I will pay myself as I don't want to wait even 3 months....
So I should hear soon.... I think I probably will have my surgery in May after I get back from Arizona.
Now I feel like there is some light at the end of the long dark tunnel I created myself.
Hugs,
Lucy

Good morning Wendi. I will be calling on my friends here for support as I go through this next journey of my weight loss phase. I got to tell you that as I was driving into work this morning, I was thinking about all the things I'm doing to need to do to get ready for the surgery. Being busy will be good for me and I am the type that plans and organizes to get things done in time. In the meantime, I plan on doing what I can to lose some weight before my surgery.
Of course, when I get a date I'll let everyone know.
Thanks again!
Lucy

I am really glad that you are going this route for those pounds you need to get off! I was a little worried when you said you were going to do some kind of weight loss pill.......I think you will be very happy with the lap band. I know that we have told you that you have come such a long way......but I am so impressed with you even more now.....you have been battling depression and this weight gain, and you are going to win this battle! You did not get passive about it and roll over and let it win.....I would say you inspire me and the rest of us....really you do Miss Lucy! You are going to get exactly where you want to be, and all the work you did previously is going to finally pay off!
Hugs Pam
Oh Miss Pam, your message is so special to me. It hit home. You do know what to say and how to say it! Thank you my dear friend. Even though we haven't met yet, I still feel close to you as we have shared a lot.
I have a definite plan now and am excited about getting ready for the surgery. I learned my lesson
and will share that with prospective pre-ops at the informational seminars.
I hope that you are still coming to our party next Saturday. Yes??
Hugs,
Lucy
