Looking for a support group in Northern Illinois
Hi! I am scheduled to have my Lap Band surgery on May 3rd. and am looking for a support group, or individuals who could be supportive in the Cary/Crystal Lake, IL area. Needless to say, I am both excited and nervous about the upcoming event. I am having the surgery in Juarez Mexico by Dr. Jose Rodrigez. Everything is all set, but I would like to be in contact with others who have gone through this.
Thanks!
Paul
Welcome Paul! You came to the right place. I hope you find this board as helpful as I do. I trully am accountable to the others on this board. They keep me in check each day. Everyone is on the same journey regardless of the stage they are at. We are here to support and get support. I could not ask for a better group of people to call my IL Family. I had gastric bypass in August of 06 and my husband had lap band this past January 08..
Hope you join in on the daily roll call.

Many of us had our WLS through the Kane Center. They have support groups 3rd Saturday each month at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove. I know they have a special group for bansters. You can check out the website and look into seminars/support groups there at: www.suburbansurgicalcare.com And welcome to the board :-)
Regards and hugs,
Ronna

Thanks Jennifer and everybody else!
I will plan on going to the meeting at Centegra on the 29th. Is that the hospital on route 14? I know there's also one on 31. I'll look it up. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this forum. It puts me at ease to know others are out there going through similar experiences.
