Need Lap Dr. in Chicago or surrounding area

Hi,  Im looking for a "great" doctor for Lap Band in Chicago or surrounding area AND whats a good insurance ? Thanks

A good insurance is one that covers WLS. Many of us have Dr Jeff Rosen as our WLS doctor. He is in Downers Grove and does his surgery at Good Sam in Downers. You need to choose a doctor that has a great pre surgical program and a PO program and that is Life Weigh Bariatrics. Their ad is in the lower left corner of this page. There are others that have gone to the Kane Center, my DH included. Good docs.

I went to Dr Jeffery Rosen. He is located in Downers Grove. He isn't only great his staff is great. I am 1 year out and havn't had and problems at all.

I go to the Kane Center at Alexian Bros Medical Center. They are a Center of Excellance and the only ones that my insurance endorses. I have BCBS Anthem, based in Ohio, but I know there are many good ( will cover WLS) plans out there. Lisa

I too go to the Kane Center.  Everyone there is wonderful.  One thing to keep in mind.....if you get denied through insurace through the Kane Center and are planning to have lap band...they will send your case to a lawyers office in Calif.  Obesity Law for free.  They helped me get approved after getting denied 4 times.  All the doctors are great through the Kane Center!!!  I have Dr. Wallace.  I first started out by going to there free seminar.  You sure have found a good place for support!!  Keep us posted!!!!! All Bariatric Centers submit to that attorney for free when someone gets denied for Lap Band. Dr. Rosen's office said the the company that owns Lap Band has a contract with the attorney because there has been so many denials. If anyone wants to talk to Barbie at Dr. Jeffrey Rosen's office they should call. She is very knowledgable in the area of insurance and she will definately go to bat for you.

Dr. Tiesinga is in Elmwood Park and operates out of West Sub. in Oak Park.  He does RNY and Lap Band and is actually a procter for the lap band company - he trains other surgeons on the procedure. Good luck! Denise

I had RNY by Dr. Leslie McClellan in Vernon Hills, Il.  She also performs lapband.  In my opinion, she and her staff at the Bariatric Wellness Center are the BEST!  Great pre and post care, support groups, nutritionist...etc.  She also has an office in Harvard, Il.  Should you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected]
