What's cookn' my IL friends? Anything special happening in your world today? I am at work at the moment enjoying the peace and quiet until the rest of my co-workers arrive. I will go home at 3pm and start the two casserole bakes that I will bring into work tomorrow morning for the rest of my hungry friends to enjoy. Other than that not much going on in my world. That is what is so much fun about my job things are different each day.  There has been some baby steps forward with my brother Jim. They are talking about capping the trach so he can learn to talk. He has been able to focus on TV, he is getting his humor back. They have given him some sort of a communication tool to use and he finds it rather comical and a smile will spread across his face. I have not been up since Sunday and still do not plan on going for a few more days. He needs his rest. Need to and get to work.  & Christine

Chris I am so happy to hear Jim is making progress.  He's still in my prayers! Today is just more of the same for me during the day, after Jacob gets home from school, I will take him over to JC Penny's to see if we can find him some dress clothes, the show is getting closer and still nothing to wear for him.  After that I have to pick up Tyler at school from his IMSA meeting and then home, dinner and relax.   I get to start the impact shakes this weekend...wow, it's really coming I guess.  I feel like I still have so much to do, but I really don't.   I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and warm day!

Good morning Chris & Monica,

Chris, I'm glad to hear some improvement with Jim.  You all are still in my prayers.

Monica, it is getting close to the big day for you.  How exciting.  Good luck on your shopping trip.

This morning I woke up with intense pain in my stomach all the way down.  When I got up, I discovered that my friend came.  I never had cramps like this prior to surgery.  Has anyone else had a worse time with theirs since surgery?

Well, I'm off to work.  Have a great day everyone!

Michelle, Before surgery I never got cramps, afterwards, well, can I say yelling screaming, and agonizing pain.  Hang in there!

Good morning Chris and Monica. I'm glad to hear that your brother is getting better day by day. Yummy, I love casseroles...

Monica, I'm so excited for you. I remember drinking Impact. When I had to drink it, I had to mix it with water. Now you don't have to do that.. You have so many wonderful days ahead of you.

Our party is still set for April 19th. Soon I will have a separate post to start the planning phase. YAY!! No ice or snow storms allowed. It's been a dismal and depressing winter. I can't wait for spring or should I say summer?? I have a feeling we're going to go from winter to summer. But I am SO ready!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful and positive Wednesday.

Hugs, Lucy

Good morning all!  It is a bright and sunny day here in southern Illinois!  No special plans today, going to support group tonight.  My plastic surgeon is gonna be there for one last time.  He is leaving and going back home to the Virgin Islands.  One more snow or ice storm, I would be begging him to take me...lol I will be sitting down working on secret pals too. Have a great day!

Well, if it hurts for her to take breaths in and out and when she is coughing then she possibly has pneumonia. But this is not always totally true as I had it in '99 and I never hurt at all. The doctor found it in a CT scan. As far as her coughing after reclining that is normal because all of the junk collects in the back of the throat and it causes you to cough. I would not let it go much longer especially for an older person - I would insist that she go to the doc to be checked out. CB

I just got off of the phone with the doctor's nurse and have an appointment for her today at 2:45.  The nurse wanted us to sit on it a bit longer, but I insisted. Thanks for the support!

Good morning Illinois! We have SUN today and maybe a bit of warmth. This winter will be over eventually! We are looking forward to the party next month. It will be fun to meet all of you.

This has been a more quiet week at work. It's more planning time than "doing" time. One more test and my students are done. Our semester ends early in April. Since classes start the first of August my busiest time is April to August when I have to plan and arrange the whole year. So now I'm thinking of changes but soon will be arranging for them.

Good morning Christine and Illinois! I've got a cardiologist appointment today. He feels I need to take a beta blocker for the month before and after surgery, so today I pick up that prescription. I am also waiting to hear from the hospital as to what time my husband must arrive there tomorrow. Cardioversion is on Friday. He has never been in the hospital and is nervous about it.  Christine-I'm glad to hear things are looking up for Jim, even if it is baby steps.  Monica-12 more days! Save me a seat on the losers bench. I'll be joining you shortly. Have fun shopping! Michelle-Have a great day at work! Dee-Enjoy your support meeting! Lucy-Nice to see you again! I hope that the party is a big success for you  without snow and ice! Have a great day everyone!
