Did this ever happen to you?

Well if anyone can shed some light it would be great! I had RNY on Jan 14 everything ws going great my large incision was leaking like they said and then it stopped. It stopped about three weeks ago, well the other day I looked at the scar and it was puffy again but just a little bit. Then yesterday looked again and it was bigger yet and with a white spot on it, it was ok and then I must have turned and it burst. All the gross (not colored normal) stuff ooozzeedd, so I did what the dr told me I could do and press on it well more came out and it then changed to blood. Then walked from one room to another and then got this overwhelming sickness, I was having the dry heaves. Ok fine I think I am ok then I was shaking and freezing, so I called the dr and now I am on all kinds of medicines for a infection and pain medicine again. Please tell me that someone knows how this works and that will get better. I have been doing very well thus far and now with this issue I am a little frustrated, I seemed to be in a holding pattern and now with a infection. Hope there is light at the end of the tunnel because not in a good frame of mind either seemed to be stalled out as well. AUGHHHHHH please shed light!

Right after my surgery, I think I had an infection as well.  I didn't have the puss, but I felt terrible and the coldness.  I had a fever as well.  Afterwards, when the fever broke, I  was terribly cold.  I had uncontrollable shakes, until I had three or four sweatshirts on and I was under my covers (including a down comforter.  It did go away eventually, and now I am fine, almost at 100 pounds lost now and I haven't looked back.  I hope this is comforting for you.  I did have the Lap Band, and not the RNY, but still, surgery is surgery.

The good thing is that you called your doctor. I had an infection about a week after surgery. My temp kept going up, I had to be admitted to the hospital for one day then I was fine! Hang in there

It DOES get better lmfao.  I went thru hell and back and even almost died. But I am still here and down almost 160 pounds.
