So- my biggest dream has come true. Not only was my case accepted, and insurance saying it's a go... BUT.... I GOT A DATE TOOO!!! Omg.. Three days after my finals are over I will be going under, having a gastic bypass, and coming back a new girl (or that much closer to being one). May 19th. Any suggestions on what kind of things I need to be doing starting now? What can i expect during the liquid diet before the surgery. What are some tricks to make it through the bumpy spots. Thanks for the support and tips. I love that there is a website like this!

Dear Shana: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!  It's a great feeling to be taking your life back under control, isn't it? The best thing that you can do to get ready from this point is to begin an exercise program....even walking.  It is the one thing that I did not really do (or at least with any consistency) and I regret. I had no problem with the liquid diet, actually, I found that it was hard to get it all in.  It was a little boring, but not really hard for me. Congratulations again!

Tell someone that you love them!

Shana , that is great news, May 19th will be here before you know it., the only think that I did before I had my surgery was try to lose some weight, the more you lose the better it will be for you and for the Dr. doing the surgery . because losing weight shrinks you Liver so that it is on in the way when they do you surgey. and as for the liquid diet every dr. is differant as to how long you are on it and what you can and can't eat. good luck with your surgery and keep us posted.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
