So i am supposed to have surgery on March 25th, but because its such short notice I'm not sure I'll be able to afford for my husband to come with me, and I really dont' want to go through this alone.  Does anyone know if the hospital will allow your significant other to stay with you at the hospital?  Anyone have surgery there that could offer some insight.  I just know we can't afford a hotel for him, but I don't want to be alone   Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

You could ask Sandra (Autismmom) I'm sure she would love to help you.   Click to my profile and you can find her on my list of friends. Pam

Hi, I was recently on the Hospital's website, and found out, that your spouse can stay with you 24/7, but only if you have a private room, which you can request. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your surgery. Vicki (Jrsmomi)

If it were me I would simply tell them that we are from oot and that he is staying period. Ask for a recliner and a pillow and a blanket. Maybe there is a guest lounge that he could nap in or something. Is it the U of I or the U of C hospital?

Maybe we can be roommates. I saw my surgeon there today. He is going to try to schedule me before the end of the month.
