I want salad! and I want it now!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that my "official" salad time to wait was 3 months also, but at about 7 weeks, we had our annual Christmas Party at Lino's where their salad is "to DIE for". I had a few bites and chewed them really good and everything was fine.
I told the nutritionist about it and she said that everyone is different and that the times given are guidelines where most people are comfortable. I think if you REALLY want it, go ahead but make sure to chew, chew, chew, chew........you should be fine.
My NUT laughs because she says that is the biggest request that she hears, is how people are craving salads........not cake or cookies! What a change from our old lifestyle!
Thank you to everyones feed back, as I got a coupon for Sweet Tomatoes buy one get one free. So, I figure since I would eat so little, I would be the free one and my DH can pay for his.
It is so funny, as I do not crave anything anymore. I don't deny myself anything anymore either. I just remember that I was my portions and measure and weigh everything.
I too want to eat a nice salad, but my Dr. said not until I was 6 months out.
But every Dr. is Differant. I can't even eat Carbs. IE. patatoes, pasta, rice,
What does your dr. say about it?

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
I waited 6 months. Boy it did taste good the first couple of times. Now I hardly eat salad as their is not much there there.
What I mean is, yeah it fills me up but I don't get the nutritional value I need from my food. So every once in awhile I'll have a salad but not everyday like I used to.
Regards and hugs,
Ronna

My info from the Kane Center says to advance to all foods as tolerated after 8 weeks. I haven't had many fresh fruits/veggies so far, but I've tried a couple of bites of lettuce without problems, and have had cucumber, tomato and a little onion (diced very small in my tuna salad).
