Approved!!!!!

Right now I am in complete shock. I am supposed to be happy but I think I am too shocked lol. I just got off the phone with Michelle from the Kane center saying that I was APPROVED. The reason I am so shocked is that I have BCBS IL and we all know how they are. Michelle was also shocked on the fast approval and that neither of us had to call them. My paperwork was faxed over on 2/19 and the letter of approval was dated 2/26. Ok I think that has to be some kind of BCBS record LOL. I never thought I would be the one that got the ok the first go around. Matter of fact I am mad at myself was not paying more attention at my monthly visits and doing more pre surgery prep. Even though I don’t have a date yet I am still having all these thoughts like OMG is this something that I really want. But I am sure that is normal to have cold feet. Because this decision to pursue WLS was not an easy one and it has taken me several years to decide that this is something I want to and need to do. Well I just had to share my shocking and good news. I am sure once the shock wears off I ll be more and more excited about taking this huge step to a much healthier me!

Congrats!!!! I am sooo happy for you! We might be having surgery around the same time! Please keep us updated to your next step. Did Michelle tell you what your next steps are? I have my sleep study this Thursday. Also, let us know when you get a date!!!!!

      Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Congrats on your approval! I have BCBS of iowa and I was approved the same way. I did have to get my BMI under 50 first though. That was BCBS's stipulation! I am happy for you~ Karen

Congrats on the approval, I also have BCBS IL PPO and was approved on the first try in about 2 weeks! Maybe they are getting a little better with all this.
What other steps do you still have to do? I am done with everything and now just waiting for March 24th, my new healthylifeday!

Congratulations Sherry!!! I too have BCBS of IL PPO, and once I had met all their criteria, I was approved within a week. I think a lot of those that have problems are not realizing how strict they are about their criteria being met EXACTLY. Then, I also think there are some reveiwers there who get their kicks out of sending denials for stupid stuff too. You are now on your way on the journey of your life!

Thank you everyone!!!!! Michelle did email me my list of appointments to make before I get a date. So I have to work on getting those all lined up. Thank gawd I had my sleep study already cause those are not fun. I go pick my cpap on Tuesday yay me lol. But I will keep everyone posted!!
