How long does approval take???

Hi there.... I was wondering if there was anyone out there who used Illinois Medicaid for WLS.  How long did the approval process take?  Anyone have any suggestions on the process and what pitfalls should I be looking for?  I have found a surgeon (Dr. Jay Salimath, Peoria, IL) and I have my first appt with him March 12th.  I just want to be well educated and informed of what to expect.  Thanks....you all have been great! Well per my docs office the process once they send for approval could take up to 30 days, depending on how thorough the information your doc sends is.  On the flip side I have a few friends who were approved on the card in as little as 2 weeks.  It really depends on how clean cut your case is and basically how many cases they feel like doing a day (with the government you just never know) I will let you know how long my approval *or denial* takes to get.
