May I introduce myself???

Hello there everyone!  My name is Tracee.  RNY WLS on 1.19.08 here in Anchorage, AK. OK...I know...If I'm in AK then what the heck am I doing on the IL board? Well!  We are a military family and we are being transferred back to Illinois.  The girls and I will be back there mid March. I am originally born and raised in Elmhurst, IL. Not sure how many pound down I am since the movers packed the scale. (probably a good thing too!)  I'm hoping to get to know ya'll and get some great info! That's it for now. Just wanted to pop my head in and say HELLO!!!  

Hi There! Retired Navy Wife here.  Welcome to the IL board!  You will find us all really great so do not hesitate to post.  If you have any questions, or are looking for a new bariatric surgeon to follow up with the only ones I know that take Tricare is the Kane Center.    Do not pack your winter clothes away.  Tonight we are to get about 6 inches of snow, with more on friday and again on monday.  We are all wishing for spring to arrive soon.

Hi Wendi!  Thanks for the info. I just began researching Bariatric surgeon's in the area to try and find a new one. Tricare doesn't have very many in IL. Thanks for the heads up! I'll get the number from you once we get settled if that's ok? Funny...it's warmer here than it is back there!  Yesterday it was 36 degrees, sweatshirt weather. Honest! Wasn't it last week when you guys had like -30 with the windchill?  Man, I'm not looking forward to coming back to that, lol.  We don't have humidity here. So in the summer 65 degrees is like 'TURN ON THE A/C" weather. ha ha. Direct sun, gotta love it. DH has some time yet before he retires from the CG. Maybe two more duty stations after this one. I'm sure I'll be hitting the exchange / commissary lup at GL at least once a month. Maybe we can do lunch or something? Girls, it feels awesome to connect with someone in IL. Hi Tracee, Welcome to the IL board.   It looks like you and I may be neighbors.  I live in Aurora, just outside of Oswego.  My kids go to Oswego schools.   And I grew up in Lombard!    I have a lap band which is almost a year old (its birthday is March 15th).   I am losing slowly but steadily, and me and my band friend have become quite cozy (except when it throws something back at me).  Welcome back to Illinois.

You will love it here.  Everyone is great and there is wealth of knowledge.  The support is awesome also.    Gina

Hi Gina! Wow, what a small world! We'll be renting in the River Run subdivision. I'm alittle rusty on directions and cross roads, but I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of things quickly.   Hubby grew up in Romeoville.  I'd love some help trying to figure out the area if you get a chance!

Tracee,  No problem.  I know exactly where River Run is - I get my hair cut about 4 blocks from there in downtown Oswego- right over Emmetts restuarant ( which is AWESOME btw).    I will be more than happy to help get you around town.  The Oswego schools are excellent, and Oswego is a nice town.  I dont know how old your girls are, my daughter ( and my son) will be 8 this friday.     Good luck on your move. Welcome back to cold IL Tracee, though living in AK, you are probably used to it huh?   I am in North Aurora and grew up in Wood Dale.
