6 days to go

I have less than six days to ago and just had my pre-op appointment on Monday. Question is there anything else that is, to be done with the liquid diet. Like taking an laxative etc.....

Hi Kim - I know this is not the answer you want to here but that is a question for your doctors office.  Each doctor is different.  I've known some that require a bowel prep the day before surgery and then others that did not have to.  My surgeon required it on me and a liquid diet for 10 days.. My husband had lap band 19 mo later, had to be on a liquid diet for 14 days w/ no bowel prep.  We have a friend that had open gastric bypass and he did not do a liquid diet or a bowel prep prior to surgery.  Things change so it's best to run that by your surgeons office. Kimberly, contact your doctor's office and ask specifically what you need to be doing before your surgery. I was given written instructions as to what to do. It would be remiss of anyone to tell you to do what they had to do because every doctor has their own protocol. Christine
