Wednesday Roll Call

Good morning everyone in Lincoln Land. Bundle up everyone as it is still a little cold out today. It is only 8 at my house right now and if I remember correctly it is only supposed to get into the mid teens today. Well, I had a little screw up yesterday as I forgot a hair appointment after work. I guess that I had a little bit on my mind as my oldest brother is having a quadruple bypass and 2/3 of his right lung taken out today at 11am. I went to the hospital to visit him. For all you smokers out there that is reason enough to quit. He has smoked for 55+ years, unfiltered Camels. I do not want to loose anymore of my siblings for useless reasons. I have lost 2 already. I am the youngest of 7 and am saddened to see my family being chipped away. All of my parents extended family is gone and we are all we have left. Enough of that. What is going on in your's and your family's world today? I will be getting ready for work shortly and then I have a meeting at 1pm today in Naperville. I will go directly after that to the hospital and sit with my SIL for a short while. The surgery is 6 hours long so I know that he will not be in a room yet, that is even if they take him in on time. Need to get  Take care all.  & Christine

Good morning Chris and Illinois.  Chris, my thoughts are with you and your brother today.  Please let us know how he is doing. More snow and ice headed my way tomorrow.  Ewwwwwwwww, when is spring gonna get here?  I am  headed to the chiropractor today, hopefully he can help me.  I may also head to the craft store, I am bored, and want something crafty to do. My DH is having a horrible times with his legs lately.  They use to hurt when he would go to bed, now they hurt when he stands.  He stands on them four hours at work.  I am really worried about that since he is our only income.  Stay warm everyone!

Good Morning Chris & IL - I will be thinking about you, your brother and family today.  Prayers going up.   Don't worry about the hair appointment... stuff happens.  Sounds like you have much more on your plate then needed.  Dave is a sharp man, he will do just fine.  It's always a little scarry transitioning into another job.  I'm working both jobs today so that will consume my entire day.  Other then that, nothing else going on.  I'm tired already.  LOL  It's going to be a long day. Good Morning IL friends.  It is SO cold outside and I hate this.  I really want spring to get here....I promise I won't complain that it's "too" hot in the summer this year either!  LOL

Chris, I am praying for your brother today and for you and your family as well.  I cannot imagine losing my siblings. I am the youngest of 4.  I stil have both of my parents as well.  They will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year in April as well. 

Today I am going to wor****il about 12, then it's off to Alexian Brothers for my diet class.  After that it's home and do whatever.  I am waiting for my next class books to come in the mail so I can get started on that.  It's Medical Math and I am not looking forward to it. lol

Rise and shine IL~ Once again I am off to see my dad.  We are hoping to talk to a psychologist today.  See post from yesterday.  Also another doctor is coming in and going to talk to the family and ansewer some questions.  I pray everyday that he gives my mom the power to be strong.  She is having a VERY hard time w/ everything.  Thier whole world is being taken away right now!  Am I being selfish to even have my surgery right now?????  Better hop in the shower so I can get going!  Chris, I will be thinking of your family today.  Did you say where he is having the surgery?  This will be a long recovery for him, but I am sure he will pull through! Good Morning Illinois!  I was surprised when I saw the snow this morning...I didn't listen to the news last night so I wasn't expecting it. I need to run a few errands before babysitting two of my grandchildren this afternoon and when they leave I will go to the cardiologist with my husband. He needs to have a cardioversion done and we don't know when that will be. Hopefully we will find out soon. Have a great day and keep warm!

Sorry to hear about your brother Christine. Prayers are being sent his way. My brother and I tell our mom this every week. We would like her to quit but she thinks she knows best. She coughs all the time then goes to her dr tells him she has a bad cough and he medicates her for brochicitis. Its smoking itis....Oh well we can not force her to quit.  The bus was very cold this morning, I had on 2 pair of gloves and my fingers were still hurting! My grandsons were complaining  that their little fingers were so cold.  They were blundled up like they were headed for the north pole!    Christina hows Calvin doing?   Well I got to get busy got to straighten up a little before I go pick up the pre schoolers for class. Hey girlfriend..  I bet that bus does get cold.  Oh my.. does it ever warm up? Calvin is doing good, thanks for asking.  He still has not had a fill.  He went a few weeks back for his first fill and Dr. R said he did not need one yet because he was losing so there must of still been restriction from the swelling or something.  I don't know.  So Calvin goes back in two weeks for a follow up w/ Dr. R.   You are doing great with your wl   How far is Wheeling from you?  That is where Lucy is having the get together in April.  I hope you can make it. Im not sure? I live 20 miles west of Peoria! That bus doesn't seem to ever warm up, because with the weight loss I am cold all the time! Calvins doing great, I gained 6 pounds in the first 2 weeks after my band! I would love to join ya all at Lucys party but I will be up tp see Dr R for my 1 yr check up and for support group and with the cost of gas 1 trip a month is about it! Sorry!! Karen
