Measha Had her Surgery Here is an update
This is Measha's best friend Tia and she wanted me to log on for her and make sure that her best support was updated. Her surger was Monday and it went very well. She was in surgery for and hour and half and was in recovery for almost 2 hours. She was very sleepy after surgery as was I and took a nap with her. HEHE!! Tuesday her blood count was going down so they gave her two blood transfusions. Worried that she might have a leak the doctor was talking about talking her back in to see if she had a leak. Her blood count started to go back up but her spirit has taken a hit. I am sure that she is feeling many normal feelings for after surgery but she really needs some great support. Pam from her support group stopped by and talked to her for about an hour and that helped a lot. The only people that really are big helps are you guys that have been through it. It doesn't matter what I tell her I don't know her feelings. Please keep her in your prayers and send her many words of encouragment as this is the most important at this time. I am really worried about her and want nothing but the best for her. I know she is a beautiful person and this surgery will only make her more stunning. Thank you all for being there for my best friend. I will be updating daily for her until she gets home.
Measha,
This is so cool, as I am going to be the first here to say welcome to the losers bench. There are going to be many times where you will wonder if this tool works, or if you made a mistake. Do not fear, as I can tell you it does work, and keep your eye on the prize at the end.
Ask all the questions you want, and vent at anytime. I sure have had my share....Everyone here on the IL board is warm and caring.
Thank you Tia for giving us and update on Measha.......what a good friend you are! She is a looser like us now! Yippeeeee
I know this will help her self image real soon! I know she's been taking a huge hit in that area! You let her know we are all here for her and our thoughts and prayers are already out for her!!
Hugs Pam
Tia, when you see Measha tomorrow just start chanting Loser!! LOSER!! She is now a loser like the rest of us here. I know hearing a chant like that makes me smile. I guess it is a guy thing. But please tell her we all here welcome her to the loser's bench and she needs to get a ticker like many of us do so we can see her success.
Ok to Measha, just remember this is a process. It has taken me almost 9 months (since my first adjustment as I am a lap bander) to begin to feel the confidence come back. It won't happen over night and use the tool you selected to help you get to your goal. You can do it and you now have the tool that was the final piece missing. I would also suggest maybe seeing a counselor once a month. He/she will be able to help you adjust to your new body. With the new body comes a lot od different pressures and challenges you probably never imagined. Let that person be your guide to find the woman you want to be, without hurting the woman you are today. I know it sounds weird, but trust me, it can happen.
Ok I ma off my soap box. Welcome to the losers bench Measha, you loser :) Tia, thanks for the update and I look forward to seeing all the updates yo uwill have for us until she gets home.

Dear Tia:
Thank you for the update on Measha. I am very glad to hear that she made it through surgery well. I hope that she does not have to go back in.
Emotions will really roller coaster after surgery and that is normal. Just tell her to take it day by day, minute by minute, it will all work out.
We will be looking forward to the updates and are happy to welcome her to the loser's bench!
