Need to vent
I just need to vent a wee bit.
I love the Kane Center. The people there have been so fantastic and Dr. Rantis is my hero. I had a fill at the end of January and I had great restriction with it. My weight loss has been steady and as long as I am careful with chewing and bite size, I am pretty free of major stuck incidents. I know that I get tighter around TOM but this time I am so tight I cannot eat anything close to solid without discomfort. I try to take the ittiest bittiest bites known to man and I chew them until there is no way to recognize what type of food it was- I still will end up getting stuck. I called the office because I think I need an unfill- even if its just a little bit, it is much better than PBing everything you try to eat.
No appointments until Thursday.
What? You are telling me that when a patient calls and uses "in pain" "can't eat food" in the same sentence you can't squeeeeeze them in for a little bit of an unfill? There have been times that I had an appointment a month in advance and when I got there I still waited over an hour to be seen. I'm frustrated and just feel like, now that the surgery is said and done, I'm kind of on my own. I have been starving since this started because I can't fill my pouch at all, and I am not a fan of relying on liquid calories. I will obviously do it if I have to, but this sucks!
So I take it they do not have ANY openings tomorrow at the Arlington office?
I am not familiar with what the protocol is with a patient if it is one of those things that you must be taken in ASAP or if they would like you to at least have liquids for 24+ hours. Hopefully it will not be too frustrating for you until you go for your unfill. Hang in there. I would also mention this to Dr R and see what he says about you not being able to get in at all until the apt you got.
Take care and vent anytime you need to.

Kristen, I am sorry you are having problems. I am have problems too, but I really think it is what I am eating, and how fast I eat it. Dr. Guske told me that its not unusual to have it come back up, the band is unforgving. It is only going to allow so much in , and that is it.
I am sure the Kane Center got you in as soon as they could. I agree with you, they are great.
