Friday Roll Call

Good Morning IL!  It's been cloudy now for all of Feb except for a measly 11 minutes of sunshine....just a fact they put out on the radio this morning.

Today I have work and taking the boys to their other sides.  Finally a weekend alone with my hubby.  We really need it.
Tomorrow we are going to the home show at Pheasant Run in St Charles.  I love getting all the free stuff they give away...LOL   I collect key chains and pens from places...lol

Sunday no plans at all at this point.  I have a major issue with one neighbor to fix and I just don't know what to do.  I feel that she's targeting Tyler mainly, but all my kids as being "bad" in the neighborhood and it's just not true.  I have very good boys and while they all have attitude and can be smartasses at times, I have no complaints.  She called me yesterday practically screaming at me about something that happened outside between our kids and then said that Tyler swore at her.  I of course called all my kids in and questioned them and honestly I don't believe her.  Tyler didn't swear at her, he knows better and all 3 of mine say he didn't do it either.  She's been a thorn in my side for a long time and I am just tired of it.  Okay sorry for rambling....

Have a great and safe day everyone!!

Monica

Does that mean you haven't had heat for the last 3 days?  or have they been able to work on it while keeping it running?  I am glad that things are going well.  Hope you get your mirror fixed on your car too!

Good Morning Monica and the rest of Illinois!! I HAVE to say, I am happy to be able to report in.  Going home Wednesday was THE WORST experience in my life!  It's not only that it took 3 hours, it was just frightening!  Todd had wanted me to go to his work (on the north end) and follow him home so that if anything happened, we would be together.  It took me 45 minutes to get over there, when normally it takes aobut 20-25.  Not bad, really.  We took hwy 70 and it was not great, but not any worse than any other winter driving.  When we turned onto hwy 75, it got much worse.  At one point, even though he was 3 feet ahead of me, I could not see him or anything else!  I was terrified!  There was a car behind me, so I crept along, hoping he did not hit me.  After about a 1/4 mile or so, the white-out cleared I saw Todd way ahead and slowly caught up to him.  It was slow going, then at the top of another hill, we came upon an accident and a huge truck stuck in a huge snowdrift.  There was another huge truck trying to pull him out, but there was talk of how the highway was "impassable" ahead.  The road was barely 1 lane, and there was no turning around, no going forward and no going backwards.......I had NO idea what we were going to do.  Eventually, they got the truck pulled out and we were able to go forward.  We got into the town of Davis and pulled into the gas station for a potty break and to gas up.  At the station, they were telling us that it was worse ahead, but our town is 3 miles down the highway, and we went for it.  It was not as bad as what we had already been through, and we eventually got home. We must have gotten 16-18 (or more) inches in Rock City.  I took some pictures, and will post them on my profile here in a minute....     I stayed home yesterday mostly because I was afraid to try to drive.  Todd went in to work in Rockford and said the roads were good, so I came in today.  Highway 20 is still kind of crappy, but passable.  I will not be driving in bad weather for a while.  I will stay in town next time. Monica, I do not have any good advise about your neighbor.  Sorry, but I can't think of anything. Good news for Kim!!!  Miracles DO happen!  I am glad that you two will be able to go through the process at the same time.  Glad to see that everyone seems to be safe and sound.  Lucy should have plenty of snow to shovel, and if not, she can come to Rock City! Gotta catch up on work for now!  Everyone have a lovely day!

Oh Dawn, how scary that must have been.  I'm so glad that you and Todd made it home safe and sound.  We only got about 3-4 inches here and the roads were bad so I can't even imagine!

I am just going to ignore that neighbor for now, but if she messes with or lies about my kids again, look out, the mama bear is comin out!!  lol

I agree that's excellent news about Kim and yes we will be doing most appts and things together next week it seems.  cool!

Yep.....it really was!  I am SOOOOO ready for Spring!  I have officially had enough of winter this year.  It was cloudy in Rock City last Satruday, so I am saying that IF we had a groundhog, he would not have seen his shadow, so we should have an early Spring.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it! The Block Paty get-away next weekend will be fun and I will make Todd drive!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and ignore that crappy neighbor!
