Possible relocate to Chicagoland, looking for input.

Hello everyone.  I usually hang out on the Lapband board but someone suggested you all might help. I am pursuing a new job that would take me to Chicago.  I don't want to live in the city, and I'm looking for input as to what suburbs to check into.  I have four children ages 1-11.  I value your input on so many band related things I thought I'd pick your brains regarding this issue.  Send me PM or if you prefer just post here.  Wondering things like schools, taxes, best bang for the housing buck, etc.

Hi Gene, I don't have much to offer as far as your questions go... I live in Woodstock, Illinois I love it here but not too close to the city unless you took the train... Anyways I just wanted to say Hi and welcome you to the board! Blessings, Jenn

Gene, where is the company located that you are going to work for? Because the Chicago area is so vast it is hard to give you any kind of input. There are some really good areas, fantastic school districts, expensive 'burbs etc. There are some expensive counties and more resonable counties to live in.  As a reference I live about 10 miles west of O'Hare field. I have lived in Itasca all my life but know a whole lot about my general surroundings and beyond. I will try and help with anything that you have questions on. If I do not know the answer I will try and find it out for you. Chris
