Help needed from Chicago residents, please!.....

So I have an appointment with Dr Ayloo in chicago on Thursday.  I live over 4 hours away and have NEVER been to Chicago before.  I was looking online but am so travel stupid, I don't know what to look at.  I am looking for a hotel (not TOO expensive) near the U of I at Chicago.  I will be leaving tomorrow morning so I need to call and make reservations today. Anyone in the chicago area familiar with anything near the area (doesn't have to be right next door, but somewhere in the vacinity). Thanks everyone!!!

I do no know of any hotels in that area but why don't you call either the doctors office or the hospital and ask for recommendations?  I am sure that they have had the same question from others and have a list they work off of. Good luck, Nancy

I thought of that and tried a few different times over the last week and just can't seem to get through to anyone.   Just assumed since I've seen quite a few people in the Chicago area someone on here could help me out a bit. Thanks

I had surgery with Dr. Ayloo in Nov, and she and her staff are WONDERFUL!!!!!!! As far as hotels, there are some near, but they are like motels, and some of the actual hotels are like 6 or 7 miles away from the hospital. Good luck with your surgery, youre in good hands!!!!!!!

U of I is on the west side of the City not too far from downtown Chicago. You would be better off staying downtown and paying a taxi to take you to your appointment. There are plenty of hotels downtown, you should google "hotels downtown chicago". This will eliminate apprehension and nervousness. Jazz

I also see Dr. Ayloo she and her team are wonderful.  My brother we called guest services.  They have a guest house the you pay $50.00 a day.  My brother stayed there while I was there and it worked out well. Patty
