Tuesday Roll Call
Good morning Chris & the rest of Illinois!
I am working very hard today, this is the first time I've had a chance to check in.
I hope the weather clears in time for Dave's flight to the interview on Thursday (isn't it?) I am wishing him good luck!
Todd finally got his car back---it was the thermostat. Life is so much easier with 2 running vehicles.
Besides work and waitning for more snow, not too much else is going on. I have to take Olivia's glasses in to see if they can be fixed, and stop by the bank for David. He lost $20.00 on the Super Bowl game. That will teach him not to bet (I hope)!
I am starting to look forward to our annual "Block Party", which is a yearly get away in February with friends. We figure that by February, everyone is sick of winter and needs a little break. This year it is right after Valentine's day. We book a "block" of rooms (hence the name) in Madison and hang out together and have fun. This year, it will also be Amber's 30th birthday celebration. I can't believe that I have a 30 year old daughter!!!! I guess it IS true------you are only as old as you feel and since WLS, I feel like a 30 year old myself!
Glad to see so many new "faces" and friends on here. We have the BEST board, I swear!
Gotta get back to work for now.......
Interview=Friday. He is going to call the guy tomorrow and find out when HR is going to call him with flight arrangements.
Where do you stay in Madison? We love the Concourse Hotel in downtown. We book a room for the Governer's floor and they overlook the capital etc. They have open bar in the evening, snackies and desserts at night. We love the room most of all because it is so nice and classy. With that we used to get free parking.
Love to walk in downtown around the square and especially like to go over the summer when they have the farmer's market.

I just LOVE the Governor's Club!!!!! Todd and I will stay there if it is just the two of us, as kids aren't allowed on the Governor's floors, and I don't see the point in staying at the Concourse without staying at the Governor's club! The Farmer's Market is one of the best in the nation.
We have stayed at a couple of different places up there, depending on why we were there. The Country Inns and Suites in Fitchburg is a pretty nice deal, and the kids and I have stayed there when we had lots of medical visits. Last years "block party" was there. They have a nice breakfast and a cute pool area with a mini water park structure.
We have also stayed at the Clarion Suites, which is a great deal for the money. They have a evening drink and snack thing and a nice breakfast and all the rooms are "suites" with kitchenettes.
This year's block party is at the Holiday Inn West--they have an indoor water park for all the kids. We will see how that is, as we have never been there.
Well, I got out of work early because people cancelled--thank goodness! Driving home only two miles was an adventure. We did get safely to Madison and back. They are so great about getting us in quickly since we have so far to drive! The snow started half way home.
I have 9cc now in my band. That better create some restriction! Actually it does feel like it now even though I've only had water so far. I'm planning on soup for dinner.
Be careful driving everyone and stay home tonight!

I am happy that you are home safe and sound. I have been hearing the sleet on the kitchen vent now for close to 1/2 hour so I am going to suppose that this weather i****ting your area worse than ours.
Take care and I hope that this is the sweet spot for you with your band.

Good Evening Everyone... It's snowing here like crazy! And my short on words 3yr old keeps telling me "it's cold outside" my husband told him "no, Jacob it's hot outside" and now he is confused. Well I am slightly praying that they close the clinic tomorrow and I don't have to go to work but than I don't get paid either. Well its a double edged sword.
So I hope that everyone is home and safe. My DH and I had to run out to get coolent for my car. But he loves to drive in this weather...so he insisted that we go all the way out to Riverside and 90 to the Farm-n-Fleet and we live at the end of S. Alpine. So we made it safely back and forth...but my stomach was in complete knots.
Well I am going to watch American Idol...Have a good night everyone!

Gina, oh boy I know just about where you and your DH drove to. How far past Heartland Comm Church were you? I have a co-worker that lives near Riverside and 90 in a newer housing developement. I think she is near McFarland north of Riverside. Isn't that about 1+ mile west of 90.
I am happy you and yours are safe and sound.
