IL Medicaid
I have read so many posts in here about medicaid in Chicago and St. Louis only, BUT I live in the Peoria, IL area, right in between, and we are like hospital and surgeon city. We have several great docs here that accept the medicaid for WLS. Dr. J. Salimath is my doc and he is awesome. He came with VERY HIGH regard of patients and physicians. THere is also a Dr. James Debord, he only takes medicaid for RNY, Salimath takes it for any of the surgeries. I f anyone else wants any more info let me know. These are great surgeons and I know people that have been to both.

Thank for the info Kelley, I am sure it will help anyone who lives in Central Illinois to know this.
We have had a few members that have used both St. Francis and Methodist, self pay, medical card and reg insurance. It is always nice to have someone that can reccomend the Dr's.
I had picked Peoria as my first choice also, since it is a lot closer to me, but because of insurance, I had to go to Alexian Bros. in Elk Grove Village.
It is nice to meet you, please don't be a stanger, come in and post on our daily roll call.
I am just now at the beginning of wanting the WLS. I am about 20 mins from st louis, and 2 hours from Peoria. I have the mdical card, and if i would have known they would pay for this, I would have done it a long time ago. Can you explain the process there in peoria, and how long till I would have the surgery. Thanks, Tracy
