As I have lost weight, I am gaining more confidence.  I am also learning I am a lot stronger than I thought I was.  I have to thank the Band for that.  It is amazing what you hide when you have so much weight on, you lose so much of yourself as well.  I am beginning to think that after wls we all need some form of counseling, so we can really see who we are and what happens when we lose dramatic weight.

Hi IL Board,  I am on vacation this week, so I actually was able to sleep last night...like a normal person. I can't wait to get out into the snow this morning and shovel my way out....Looks like we got quite a bit out there...even though I am just within the city limits. I let the dogs out this morning...they are little guys, only about 10 lbs each....and my littlest gave me the most pathetic look..."no one shoveled a path for me!?!"...too funny! Wow!  I haven't been keeping up with the boards too much lately...but it seems like you guys have been busy-bees!  Lucy....I'm glad you are feeling better!! Jenn...how much do you love water aerobics!?  I had my first class this past week and I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT....I was freaking out about wearing a swimsuit, but I'm all good with the idea now. Bellydance class was also a BLAST!  I never loved my curves so much.....it is a lot of fun and I hope all of you will check into joining a class somewhere. Plans for today are.........(drumroll, please)....                      http://www.lizzadromuseum.org and then a hair appointment...........then.........                      http://www.taize.fr/en That service is absolutely beautiful.....it is at Atonement Catholic Church in Oak Park...really a beautiful sight..and something positive to participate in, no matter what your faith. Anyways, I  hope some of you will be able to come to the FREE Big Band Concert on Sunday..If not, there will be other opportunities to hang out with this cool chick and her friends! take care and keep warm,  Paula

Good Morning Illinois.  Dee, its so good to see you posting and Happy Birthday. Jenn, Please be careful. Lucy, nice to see ya on. Everyone else, take it easy today.  DH just used the snowblower and cleared the front walk of everyone on our side of the street. We got 7 inches  of snow offically, but there are drifts all over. My sister just called, she said the snow looks like it stopped in Havanna, Illinois where she lives. I think I am staying in today. No need to get out with the car on roads that they haven't cleared yet. Hugs to all,

Good Morning all, Everything sure looks white out there. All the schools here are closed, so we are all having a stay home day. I hope everyone stays safe and warm if they venture out today. I went to see the dr for pre op apt and he said everything looked good except one thing... I have diverticuli on my sm intestine. He did say that he will continue with the surgery but if it is bad then Ill be wakin up with no bypass. At first I was depressed and pissed off but to tell you the truth I have just put it out of my hands.  Take everyone and be safe and have a great weekend. Measha

Hello all! I hope all your days went as planned. MIne has been fairly good. I took my girls to my sisters to go sledding and watched my bil get angry when he got his big ole new truck stuck in the same drive my car whizzed right up. lol It was funny! Dee, flu and colds are definitely going around this area. My girls have had both. I agree too cold to move outside. Guess I will hit the stationary bike tonight. I didn't do anything yesterday and and still regretting it.  Congrats to all the good news. It's wonderful to hear so many good things happening to so many good people. My prayers go out ot all of you with bad news and those who are "sitting on the fence" waiting to find out what happens next. I have faith God will bring good things your way soon. Have a wonderful evening! Beth

Good Morning Pam, so nice to hear from you! Hello Illinois!!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment.  Until I put those two pictures side-by-side, I just didn't really see it.  I was shocked by the difference.  As I said, I guess I can stop complaining as there really IS a difference.  I will keep working at it though and hope to get a bit closer to "normal" on the BMI chart. At home, we got about 6 inches, but also had a lot of drifting.  I came in on 75 today (took Todd to work again), and I hear that was a good move.  Hwy 75 was basically fine, but I hear the 20 is a mess with cars in the ditch everywhere and traffic is backed up forever.  I actually found the city streets to be worse than Hwy 75!  Go figure! Besides working today, I am hoping that Todd's car is something minor and easily fixed.  We should find out later today.   I thought we had an uneventful weekend coming up, but now I find that Olivia has Girl Scout activities both days, and the boys are supposed to do the can collection for the Boys Scouts.  We are still trying to decide what to do for the "the big game".  I heard this morning that there is going to be something on "Spike TV" that is just the commercials.  They are showing them a couple of seconds after they are shown on the game, but I am not sure how that works.  If I could only watch the commercials, I would be happy.  I am not a big sports fan unless my kids or husband are playing.....and the Bears or Cubs, but even then, I only watch for the social aspect of it. I am glad to see Lucy poking her head out and hope everyone stays safe, warm and dry. Have a lovely day all!

Morning all!  We got about 10" here, and the kids still had to go to school! I heard this morning that there were 1000 schools around the Chicagoland area closed, and ours always stays open. My husband got run off the road by a semi on his way to work, and damaged our car by hitting the median. Thank goodness another car wasn't nearby to cream him worse. He was ok, and I guess the snow helped to lessen the blow , cause just the front bumper and some paint was damaged. My 2 yr old, Avery, isn't puking today. 2 other daycare kids puked last night (fun stuff) so I had 5 kids stay home today. Makes for a quiet day to help Avery recoup. She is playing nicely and eating so I am assuming she's on the mend. I am going tomorrow morning to pick up a treadmill I bought off of Craig's list. I'm really excited to start working out more.  The sun is out, and it sure looks gorgeous outside. I love it when the trees are all covered. Drive safe!

Good Morning to IL!!  What a glorious morning it is here in North Aurora.  There is about 9" of snow on the ground, I am off work, the kids are off of school and it's a GREAT day.   (see my on the phone post)
Unfortunately Mike got called out to Hinsdale this morning so I will worry about him driving.  Tyler and Jacob are out making money by shoveling driveways in the area.  They already made $20 last night and another $20 this morning from the same people...lol

Today I don't know what I am doing...finished my last test in my class last night and now I have to wait for the next shipment.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe day!!!

Monica

We got about 6-7 inches!! I had to go to work at 10 instead of 8:30 which is good since I had to shovel myself out this morning. The snow plow caught fire down my street
