GM Miss Pam and the rest of IL. We got about what they predicted for us 5". There still is fluffy blowing snow here and weather.com says that it is to taper off later this morning. It took me 40 minutes to drive from Glendale Hts after a meeting yesterday. That trip usually only takes about 15 minutes if you hit all the signals right. Well, my work is having a Super Bowl lunch get together today. Everyone is bringing something to contribute. We always have a blast and tell "War stories" from the past. Some of them are fricken' funny and you almost wet your pants laughing. All of us do not get much  done on days like this. But that is ok because I am all caught up. Dave's interview went really well. The company is flying him down to TX next Friday for another interview. This company sells the same type of equip. that Dave sells for Tyco. It is the second largest in the country for this type of equip. Emmerson is larger.  Well, need to get moving and ready for work. I am going to walk so Dave can sleep in and not have to do the driveway. To me in this type of weather it is safer to walk than be in a car, even for 1/2 mile. I have a nasty left turn into my work without a protected lane and sometimes I see trucks barreling down the road behind me and wonder if they see me stopped. My heart stops beating sometimes watching them.  &   Christine

Good morning Pam and Christine B.  Pam, I think you said it all today in your message to our fellow Illinois friends. I'm right with you on your message. I saw my plastic surgeon on Wednesday for my post-op visit. My face is healing nicely and the scars are hidden very well. I don't have to see him for another 2 months.  Now I will decide when I want to have some moles removed from my face and 1 from my foot as well as a revision of my breast lift. I'm not in a rush to have another procedure. I've had too many in the past year. Last night before going to bed, I went out there and shoveled the walkway and both driveways. It took over an hour. I got up this morning and went out there. Of course, the snow plow threw a lot of snow at the end of the driveway, so I had to shovel again in order to get out this morning. It was an awful commute. I was only driving 10-15 miles per hour and started sliding on Dundee Road. I almost turned back to go home. All the roads were snowpacked and slick. Visibility was poor too. I am happy that I got to work in one piece and no car accident. I'm sipping on my hot coffee and thankful to have it this morning! I hope that everyone is careful out there. It is a nightmare! Tomorrow I'm off to my sister's for a visit. Sunday, well plans are not definite yet. I might be going to Indiana. Hugs, Lucy

Dear Lucy: So glad to see you dropping in!  Also glad to hear that your visit with the PS went so well. Good for you to shovel for over an hour!  And then to have to do more this morning!  Your activity minutes are just adding up! Keep up the good work and take it one day at a time, and one minute at a time if need be. Luv ya, Dawn

Dear Dawn: It's funny but I love to shovel snow. If I had the time, I would have shoveled my neighbor's driveway. Once I get started, I just keep on going! I always feel better after seeing my PS.  I am trying to learn to take it one day at a time or small part of the day. It's going to take some time but it is so worth it. Regaining control is vital to my success. Thanks for your message. Luv ya too! Lucy

Good morning!  Boy oh Boy, did Southern Illinois get hit.  Here it is almost 7, and the snow plows haven't even been down the road yet.  Schools and some businesses are closed. Well, I had a wonderful 40th birthday on Wednesday, and today I feel 90...lol  I feel like I am coming down with the cold or flu, hope it is just the cold.  I need to get back to exercising.  I am trying to find a reasonable gym, so far zilch.  I was doing my exercise videos, and playing with the nintendo wii, but with it being cold outside, all I want to do is cuddle up with a throw, and a good book. Hope everyone has a great Friday! Dee
