Calling Insurance???

Okay, I think I have been patient enough as of today!  lol   I want to call the insurance and see what's going on with my approval, but have no idea who I talk to, what I say or anything...help!!

I am also going to be calling my Gyn today about this lump and seeing if I can get in tomorrow....I just don't want to wait anymore with that either!

Hi Monica - I just called the number on the back of my insurance card and told them that my surgeon had submitted paperwork for approval and was checking status.  They then forwarded me to the appropriate person.  I then told them I was following up to see if they need any additional information.  Just be real with them and don't get snotty because in my opinion, they have control of your future.   Calvin and I both followed up w/ the insurance co and in both cases, they asked for more info so I personally think it's a good idea to talk to them.  In Calvin's case, the lady personally called Calvin a few days before Christmas and told him "Merry Christmas Calvin, I did not want you to have to wait for the letter because it's going to take longer to get to you due to the holiday".  She did not have to do that but I thought it was very nice that she went out of her way. Oh yeah...............CALL THEM! You have been very patient and it is now time for you to call them.  As Christina said, just call the number on the back of your card and be as sweet as pie.  Make sure you tell the person that answers that your surgeon has sent in for PRIOR APPROVAL for surgery.  Hopefully, that will get you to the right place.
